Okay so I'm thinking my lock right issue may be oil related. Tomorrow morning I'll drain the 85-140w out and put regular 80-90 in. The thick glue oil may be causing the slipping and problems

aussie all the way. it replaces all the gears in the stock carrier. the LR re uses your worn side gears. They are about the same price. Honestly if i regear and buy a diff built i think i will just get a spool. But then again i don not drive my truck all that much. Im hoping the oil change in the morning will help
Are spools not a good choice for the T4R? I was thinking of going this route as nothing to break once I get everything set up.
no they are just strong and really inexpensive. They are only good if you dont really drive the vehicle around.
And Brian. My LR re used the stock side gears. They are the two somewhat cone shaped gears with the axle splines in them. I really think the super thick oil is just keeping it from working right. And im debating the spool. I can get one cheap and my friend said he will help me set it up. He just replaced a welded rear end with a spool on his 4runner
Front locker is ordered. I cant wait till it shows up and I install it. I have just got to the point where the Front Locker is a must. Wheeling every week and trips to the rubicon and moab this summer it will get its use.
I had to winch On John Bull yesterday, and that was the breaking point for me. I was irritated
Same spot as last time?
