Well my new diff comes open, SO a new carrier. When i set my aussie up it was TIGHT. actually .001 to .002 out of spec on the tight side of things. WHen i first finished your supposed to do the Unlock test. Mine wouldnt unlock. After some driving in 4wd it would then pass the unlock test, but it was hard to do so.
THat was my main reason for ordering an open diff. I get the chance that the new carrier is within spec and my aussie may open up some. I think its breaking cvs because its almost spooled. THe dam thing will not unlock with any power at all and 99% of the time in neutral on the trails i can tell the front still wont unlock. I think those tolerances are important. THe tolerance was the gap between the halves of the locker that move together when unlocking. So with it being too close, even .001 too close it may be having issues unlocking
