JBA UCA owners: What's your wheel/tire setup?

Running GY Duratrac's 285/70R17 on VTX Rogue Wheels that are 17x8.5 -10ET. Tires rub a small amount of that part of the UCA when fully turned (Locked left will rub the RHS arm and vice-versa).

Either way, I love them compared to the SPC's that were replaced with these.

JBAs, SCS Ray 10s, Falken Wildpeak 285/70/17 with 5100/Wheelers front back, no rub and still have a couple finger width of clearance. Had to bmc though, as I was rubbing pretty bad. Below is a pic with 275 KO2s, circled is the edge where you will see the potential for rubbing.

Stock wheels, 1.25 spidertraxx, 265/70/17 Toyo Open Country and 3 inch lift with FOX 2.0 suspension, no rub.

Anyone know if this setup works?

2016 TRD Pro, looking to add 2.25/2inch CF spacers and 285/70/17 BF Goodrich on the TRD PRO wheels. Was hoping to use the JBA UCA's, so I contacted JBA and Marlin wrote back by copying the wheel/ tire recommendations from their website. I totally understand why that was the response, especially since the 285's re not technically intended for a 7 inch rim. But has anyone tried this setup?

I just ordered a set of JBA UCA's. I have 265/70/17 with stock wheels and no spacers. Will I need to purchase a set of 1.25" spacers?

I run 255's and I had to get spacers, they just rubbed at full lock. You might be able to get away with a thin 10mm spacer if you can find some.

LT255/85R16 (33.10" x 10") tire on 16 x 8 wheel, -12mm offset (4" back space)

LT315/70R17 (34.4" x 12.4") tire on 17 x 9 wheel, -25mm offset (4.00" backspace)

Tire sizes that work well with the JBA UCAs

265/75R16 tire 31.6" x 10.4" on factory wheels

255/75R17 tires 32.1" x 10" on factory wheels

275/65R18 tires 32.1" x 10.8" on factory wheels

Any tire that is 32" diameter and smaller there is no fitment problem"

And given that, 275/70/17 on factory wheels should fit, too.

This, and not all tires are created equally. Some are wider and narrower than what their actual sizes should be.

True. My Duratracs are supposed to be closer to 33" on paper but they actually measure closer to 32". :shrug: However they do seem wider than most tires spec'd at 285 and rub at lock.

255/75R17 on Sport factory wheels definitely rub without spacers. I have tried. 5th gen factory wheels have a smaller offset so maybe they work.

Hey, bringing back an old thread. Anybody have JBA's and running 5th gen trail wheels (17x7.5 15mm offset) and 255/80's without spacers? From what others have said it sounds like it'll work, but would love to hear from anyone who has a similar setup.

I've got 265/70/r17 Wildpeak AT3w's on stock sport wheels and I rub when turning sharply going forward. All good in reverse though. Hoping to remedy with some new wheels or spacers soon. FN FX pros in bronze would look good on my black sport. I'd assume that the additional offset would be enough to eliminate my rubbing?

an update, i have 5th gen trail wheels (+15mm offset) and 255/80r17 falken tires. I had to run spacers because without them my wheel made contact with he JBA UCA at full lock. I installed .75" wheel spacers and now i have 1/4-1/2" gap between my tires and UCA.

Stock wheels, 255/80 17 Cooper and 1.5 inch Trail Gear spacers, no rub.

And with 35's you will want a wider than stock rim.

1.5 inch body lift and no rubbing with the 255/80?

Did you have to trim/bmc?

Gotcha, I plan on the same set up, but was wondering if some grinding for clearance would eliminate the rub without compromising the structural integrity. I am trying to avoid using spacers.

might be able too. it's so close that you might get lucky, or the alignment plays a role in it. also probably depends on the tires.

I have a 3inch lift, 1.5 inch is just the wheel spacers.
