I just drove under that rock last week! The trail was a little sketchier than I anticipated. BTW I think our 4Runners are almost twins, except you've got the bumper I want.

That road can be quite easy (with great views) or if it's wet or snowy very sketchy!
Yeah, I keep hacking away at what it was originally, snorkel up next! But if I had to buy a new one today it'd be silver again!

Taking 4 weeks off work was amazing, but it takes away much opportunity to do anything else before and after. I also changed roles at my company and started working crazy hours for awhile. I did get out for a couple short trips...

I saw this at the Summit County Lowe's some time ago, I assume a work in progress. Hopefully their battery wasn't dead upon return, probably not, interesting how they cut out that chrome piece for the slimline bumper.

At peak Aspen colors, [MENTION=90379]RockyMtnHigh[/MENTION] and I, along with a few others hit Twin Cone off Kenosha pass. Absolutely gorgeous day and great company, lunch at the top with amazing views. The trail isn't that hard, a few places to be careful and I wouldn't do it alone, at least the top half.

Late in the season I had plans to go camp solo overnight near 285, in the end I drove over Boreas Pass then had lunch in Summit County and came back over Georgia Pass. Questionable decision making to do that as Georgia is north facing and it was a little sketchy, coming down the other side there had been a couple tree's down that someone cut that morning, I only had a handsaw. In the end I was fine but I wouldn't make that decision again.

After that drive I decided to hit a little offshoot road, not challenging, I was alone so again not the best decision. But there were other folks out, good to justify the LED lighting from time to time. Haha

In the winter I take the fridge out as I don't really use it and want to carry ski stuff. I do occasionally use my third row, after seeing earlier pics it's very important to me to have the option to get back to this.

While getting things ready for winter I also noticed a leak under the truck, I was unhappy to find my front diff leaking. I had had the fluid changed not that long before so I pulled all my skid plates and hit a quick lube place given the fluid had to be low. They said the crush washer was missing, doh, stupid dealer. Anyway, they replaced and filled up, maybe that'll cause a problem down the road but I'll just keep an eye and ear out.

It's important to do a visual inspection under the hood and under the truck, even if you don't know what you are doing or looking at, if something looks wrong you can get it checked before a major issue develops hopefully.

Ok this brings the camping/traveling pics up to date, but not necessarily the mods.
I have the lower Rigid grill in my 2011, for those that are looking at the Dually/D2's here is a quick snapshot based on my own ridiculous wavering and constant changing. I am now on my 4th set of Rigid lights in that stupid lower grill...
1st- I had a set of dually white floods, honestly I meant to order spots and clicked the wrong button. Didn't notice until install, these put out decent lighting for the price but not very good forward facing as they just don't put out enough light for driving. Ideal for ditch light imho
2nd- I put in Dually Amber Spots as I had put a SR20 in the upper grill and wanted something different. These were really nice and mostly what I wanted for driving in snow. Problem was that they would freeze over half the time in snow and essentially become worthless, so...
3rd- Next up was a set of Amber D2's, these put a ton of light out and I had hoped they would give me more powerful amber light to cut through snow. Issue is that I just hardly ever used them over the year they were in, too bright for other cars as they light just spreads everywhere. The Amber spots were very focused right in front of the truck and never bothered other drivers. So I decided if I was going to have lights down there I wanted something I could use.
4th- I picked up a set of the Rigid Dually SAE fog lights. Wasn't sure if they would even be worth it but I have to say they are very nice. A nice bright white light right in front of the truck, don't bother other drivers and I use them frequently now. Definitely better than my stock fog lights, brighter, whiter, nice spread and don't bother other drivers.
In the end my biggest issue with LED lighting is that they don't seem to generate enough heat to melt of snow/ice when you really need them. I also went in very unsure of what beam pattern I really wanted and well tried multiple options.
Also I have the rear CBI bumper, initially I put those Dually floods in the back, they worked great. I recently swapped those out for the Diffused lens, I wanted the broader light spread and they still put a ton of light out. The positive is that I got some amazing deals on all of these lights so the cost wasn't so bad, still some money was wasted so hopefully this write up will help someone.
Anyway, hopefully this helps anyone that is looking at Rigid Dually or D2 lighting.

1st- I had a set of dually white floods, honestly I meant to order spots and clicked the wrong button. Didn't notice until install, these put out decent lighting for the price but not very good forward facing as they just don't put out enough light for driving. Ideal for ditch light imho
2nd- I put in Dually Amber Spots as I had put a SR20 in the upper grill and wanted something different. These were really nice and mostly what I wanted for driving in snow. Problem was that they would freeze over half the time in snow and essentially become worthless, so...
3rd- Next up was a set of Amber D2's, these put a ton of light out and I had hoped they would give me more powerful amber light to cut through snow. Issue is that I just hardly ever used them over the year they were in, too bright for other cars as they light just spreads everywhere. The Amber spots were very focused right in front of the truck and never bothered other drivers. So I decided if I was going to have lights down there I wanted something I could use.
4th- I picked up a set of the Rigid Dually SAE fog lights. Wasn't sure if they would even be worth it but I have to say they are very nice. A nice bright white light right in front of the truck, don't bother other drivers and I use them frequently now. Definitely better than my stock fog lights, brighter, whiter, nice spread and don't bother other drivers.
In the end my biggest issue with LED lighting is that they don't seem to generate enough heat to melt of snow/ice when you really need them. I also went in very unsure of what beam pattern I really wanted and well tried multiple options.
Also I have the rear CBI bumper, initially I put those Dually floods in the back, they worked great. I recently swapped those out for the Diffused lens, I wanted the broader light spread and they still put a ton of light out. The positive is that I got some amazing deals on all of these lights so the cost wasn't so bad, still some money was wasted so hopefully this write up will help someone.
Anyway, hopefully this helps anyone that is looking at Rigid Dually or D2 lighting.

The lower Rigid grill I have with the SAE fogs is helpful any time, the SR 20 in the upper grill basically makes even the high beams worthless. At that point I didn't think I could need more light, but there have been several times where I was off road at night and wished I had more, go figure. I didn't want to spend a ton on a large light bar since I only occasionally off road at night, but happened to catch a 40" Rigid Radiance bar off amazon at like 30% off. No idea how it got that cheap but figured it was a great deal and didn't pass it up. It sat in my garage for nearly the last year before I finally decided I needed to mount it or sell it. Sadly this install took about 30 minutes... doh. :brick:
Initial fit, using a Rigid 40" bracket the fit was perfect on the existing holes in my rack, I did drill a new center hole for the fairing bolt.

I need to work on hiding the wiring better, but a quick drive last night to test. This light bar does put out a ton of light, once again making everything else I have somewhat worthless. If I were to start over, I'd skip the Rigid grills and lights and just put the 40" bar up top, maybe I'd mount some HID fogs in the lower grill and come up with my own mounts. Lesson learned... but hey I have who knows how many extra lumens to light the way now!

Current ongoing project, new fridge slide setup and shelf... my requirements are that it must be removable so that I can use my third row. I also want to retain the ability to sleep in the truck. I'm incorporating the existing tie downs as it is my best option for a removable setup.
Test fit, I cut to fit the square area, then drilled and used my jigsaw to make the holes for the factory tie downs. This thing is super tight and doesn't move already, haven't decided how I'll actually attach yet...

I bought the Dometic slide, the fridge attaches fine and fits, I was cheaping out as the Truckfridge slide would have cost almost 50% more with shipping. They don't seem that different and with the test fit I think it's going to work great.

I was checking for sleeping space, should be enough for me, at this point I decided I want to carpet the board so I ordered that this weekend. That'll mean I won't be able to finish until that gets here.

This is stage one idea... I expect this to be my summer ever day set up, that way the dog can still ride back there and I can put a mtn bike in when I want. I want a shelf and I'm trying to decide if I want to box in the fridge for a space above it, or make something that would go all the way across the back. If I do that it will need to be removable for the dog and a bike, ideas still swirling in my head. I'll decide by next weekend, for now working on my stuff organizing and maybe visualizing how I have carried everything and how I'd like to change will help me decide.
