Test fit, I cut to fit the square area, then drilled and used my jigsaw to make the holes for the factory tie downs. This thing is super tight and doesn't move already, haven't decided how I'll actually attach yet...

I bought the Dometic slide, the fridge attaches fine and fits, I was cheaping out as the Truckfridge slide would have cost almost 50% more with shipping. They don't seem that different and with the test fit I think it's going to work great.

I was checking for sleeping space, should be enough for me, at this point I decided I want to carpet the board so I ordered that this weekend. That'll mean I won't be able to finish until that gets here.

This is stage one idea... I expect this to be my summer ever day set up, that way the dog can still ride back there and I can put a mtn bike in when I want. I want a shelf and I'm trying to decide if I want to box in the fridge for a space above it, or make something that would go all the way across the back. If I do that it will need to be removable for the dog and a bike, ideas still swirling in my head. I'll decide by next weekend, for now working on my stuff organizing and maybe visualizing how I have carried everything and how I'd like to change will help me decide.

Really like it. I was seeing how I could rig up something similar to still remove and make the 3rd row usable when needed. Love the jigsaw cutouts for the factory tiedowns.

Ideas...Ideas! :thumb:

You really do have time on your hands with the family away. I need to find somewhere to ship my wife and kids off to for a week lol!

The tie down location is a blessing and a curse, they will be solid enough as anchor points, even just laid in place the thing doesn't move at all with fridge slide moving. The first fridge mount was super basic but held up through plenty of moderate off-roading. Having the ability to use third row on occasion is key for me as well.

Yeah I got so much done this weekend, picked everyone up from airport tonight. Nice break, nice to have everyone home too though. :D
 
Were you making a right onto Lincoln from southbound i25 around 10am today? I was waiting to make a left and saw either you or your t4r's doppelgänger!

The ironic thing is that more FJ guys wave to me than 4runners. Thanks, plenty of work to do on it, now where is that darn snorkel!

Yep, was admiring your rack, er and FJ, then saw you wave, I waved back though not sure if you can see with my tint and trying not to hit anyone!



In other news, came home to a box with a snorkel in it and another box with a couple things from blue ridge overland gear!!! :whoo:

Now to find more time to work on truck. :nono:

When I know I have the best wife:

I'm at the neighbors having a beer with kids when she gets home, she doesn't notice box in garage. She walks over after a short while I say "Oh you didn't notice the box in the garage?" She asks if I finally ordered a winch....

Guess I know what I'm buying next!!! :bounce:

Installed the snorkel this week as posted in the safari snorkel thread, excellent product. Now I just need to get brave enough to cross water that warrants it, more likely I'll be on dusty trails in Utah.

This is the only picture as it was raining and snowing today, yes in late April it snows here... hopefully better pics soon.

It's not as close as it appears in the picture, but it does hit when I open the hood, the spring has plenty of give so it isn't a big deal though. When I get around to getting my ham license I may get rid of that antenna or swap out, it's a 2ft firestick.

No kidding on the install! Wife out of town, both kids had scouts, and a sick daughter didn't really help keep things on track.

Yep, I am leaving the weds before and will camp towards Moab that night, finish the drive down Thursday to flagstaff then scoot back first thing Sunday morning. If you are down there I'll keep an eye out!
