Just bought a TE!

Finally found a TE in the Gulf States region and jumped on it. Ended up trading in my 2011 SR5 4x2 in and paid $9,500 ($8600 + TTL) on the difference out the door. Dealer gave me $29,000 for my trade but USAA valued it at $28,200. Paid $37.3k to $38.1k depending on actual trade value.

How would you guys rate this deal? Not sure if it was a good one but no other dealer (including New Mexico and Colorado) offered me less than a $10k difference + TTL. It felt like a decent deal...

Car is a 2012 Mag Grey Trail with Entune, no KDSS. I love this car. Pics to come

Congratulations on bagging your TE. You stole the thing compared to what we have to pay for one in Canada. Enjoy your new ride!

Congrats!

FWIW I'd say you def did well...2012's haven't been out TOO long and I know firsthand how hard TE's are to track down in this region. I had mine shipped to Houston from Utah!

Best

Thanks guys! It feels good to own one of these finally. Ever since last January, when I got stuck in the snow, I've been eyeing a Trail.

Can't wait to see what it can do... without putting it in any danger of getting scratched of course ;).

On my drive from Dallas to OKC it was kind of buggy to be honest. I'm not sure if it is my phone or Entune but sometimes during a phone call it would disconnect from my phone and not be able to reconnect.

I haven't been able to get Pandora to work either, but I'm researching it now. It just seems more spotty than I was hoping for. More updates to come.

Congrats man. I'm jealous. Sounds like you got a pretty decent deal. I'm impressed what you got for the trade.

Me: I need to get an updated toll tag because I just bought a new car
Toll tag lady: Do you need me to get rid of one of your cars on your account too?
Me: Yes, the 2011 4runner
Toll tag lady: And what was the new car you got?
Me: A 2012 4runner
*Disappointed motherly look from Toll tag lady*

If you dont mind me asking how much did you originally get the 2011 for?? how much did you lose on it?

Originally paid $31,8k lost $2,800 in a year. Used Texas's trade-in credit so I only had to pay tax on the difference.
