I hardwired the fridge in this weekend. I ran a 12g wire from my fuse box up front around to the back right of the vehicle where I found this nifty little cubby-hole which suits my purpose.

I do strap mine down. I just use a 500lb tie down strap on each end secured to the tie down point under the rear sliding tray and the one immediately behind the rear seats.

OK, thanks. Just checking. I wouldn't want any reports of an 85-100 pound projectile taking you on out on the way through the windshield.
These things are really heavy and could wreak havoc on anyone inside the vehicle in an accident. IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO HAVE THESE FRIDGES STRAPPED DOWN. I don't have first hand knowledge, but I have seen trucks post accident that didn't have all their gear strapped down and it along with the injuries they caused were gruesome.
I have the Engel and it comes with a tray that will screw down to the sliding shelf and mounts the fridge easily and locks it down perfectly.

I got one of these things:
It looks kinda dinky in the picture but those bottom brackets are heavy steel and that strap is solid. Holds it pretty snug.
I don't know how this thing would even get at me if it came loose though. It would have to break down the rear seats to hit anyone. I had a set of subs in a Civic HB in a box that must have weighed in at 80lbs. Some old lady turn left in front of me which wrote off my car. The box definitely impacted the rear seats and significantly bent the latching mechanism but they held. The 4Runner latching system looks to be way stronger.
Anyways, yeah, it's strapped down. Sort of.

I've had my Valentine Radar Detector in for about a year now but it's never been installed correctly. I had it tapped into an "always on" 12v source which means I had to physically turn it off instead of it working with the ignition. Today, while I cleaned spilled coffee out of the center counsel, I decided to rewire it.
Once you remove the 2 screws in the sun glass holder on the overhead light/sunroof controler thingy you can just pull it down. I poked around for a bit and found that these two wires provide a ground and a ignition 12v source so that the detector turns off when you turn the car off.
Here is the pictrue of the wires. Ground is the white/black and 12v ignition is the blue:

My truck is a 2010 LE so your wiring might vary.

Alot of nice rigs on this site but wanted to comment on this one as I seen it in another post. Normally not a big fan of black wheels except a few rare cases & yours is one. Looks awesome & the other mods are clean as well.

Hi there ...
Just reading through your thread and noticed your post about SW sliders not fitting with Xreas. Check out White Knuckle's. I have them and really like them, fit my truck with out really any modifications.

Haven't had any issues and It's been over 2 years now I think. Can't tell you how many times this dual battery has come in handy.
Thanks, I've tried hard to keep the truck looking a certain way. Love the Valentine and it's certainly paid for itself over the years.

The Addicts have been great and still look as good as new. I've got 50,000km on the Grapplers now and should be able to get another 20,000km. Never felt the need for a winter tire either with these guys. Obviously winter tires are better on ice but these are good enough, haven't hit the ditch yet.
I could have made the sliders I bought fit but I wanted bolt on. I decided if I was going to have to start relocating stuff I might as well just get a real set and trim the rocker panel.
It's not that big of a deal to pull the xreas line out a bit. Mine has been fine for 2 years now. If you ask SW to put bolt on gussets on all 4 corners, then you don't have to relocate anything. regardless of which "real" sliders you get (bolt on or weld), you will need to trim/remove/replace the rockers in order for the slides not to hang ridiculously low.. which sorta beats the purpose of them.

Not sure why, but the photos have been stripped from the post here and I'd love to see them if it's possible to re-post. How is the Kodiak dual battery system working out so far? An regrets? Desire to change over to something else?
