LED tails and 3rd brake light PICS***

got mine and i love them!!! they look amazing on the Thundercloud silver!!! but on top of these lights i also bought the led back up lights, led turn signals, and led license plate bulbs, so it will have a clean crisp look no matter what lights are on, but im still waiting for the extra bulbs...

I just got my license plate bulbs and they make a big difference.

Did you get white LEDs for the back up lights and orange for the blinkers? What would the benefits be? How much did they cost? I can't really justify spending over $20 for bulbs that won't be used that much.

Install was simple I take it?
 
well im still waiting on the extra bulbs, so we shall see how worth it they really are. im big on small details on my rig. i like it when people look at my 4runner and say "whoa... that was kinda cool." and yes i got amber leds for the turn signals, so they will be clear in the housing when they are off.

as for the tail lights, as simple as you wanna make it. they come with an extra wiring kit for the whole thing, and all new backup and turn signal bulbs, but that means you have to pull a bunch of stuff apart to put in the new harness. i just used the stock harness in there because i figured that its made by toyota, and its whats supposed to be in there in the first place. put all the new bulbs on the old harnesses, and put them in the new lights.

presto, change-o and in 10 minutes i had new tail lights
 
Awesome. Why would they have a whole new harness? I don't think I want to mess with that if I'll be fine with the stock one.

i even had to change the harness with my altezza taillights, i got my TYC altezza tails. i got my dad to do it but i watched and its a pretty simple process.

and lookey what i got today :D

oh yea, just make sure you put the led panel light- plug in the right way or they wont turn on. so plug it in, and if your breaks dont turn on, flip it over. it all works just fine
 
sorry i took all these on my cell phone but you get the idea. the sticker is just like a normal decal and is pretty easy to put on. you can see a little red on the sides of mine since i dont have the rear spoiler thing but it still looks great.

if you notice in the 2nd pic i took a black sharpie and tried to make the screws as black as possible. oveall this looks great :bigok:

i never noticed till then that the the cover really helps my "black out" look getting ride of that huge piece of red off the back. can't wait to see yours clemson!
 
dont know if this was already asked or not, but i thought i heard there was a problem or something if you have the led tails and a led third break light?

am i just mistaken, or is there an issue with having both. id like to have both if possible
 
yes if you have both it will be a problem unless i believe you install resistors? i dont have either one so i'm in the clear :) but i would like to upgrade my altezza lights to the black LEDs one day.

but as far as i know you can put an LED bulb in as many places as you want.

Sloan has it right. You can't have both 3rd brake light and tail lights. I would go with tail lights as I think they make the biggest improvment, but they also cost the most.

looks great clemson! wish i had me one of those rear spoilers. don't know why toyota would not sell them anymore.

neh i was gonna get it from the dealer so i wouldn't have to drill the holes myself. i'm not that worried about it really, but it woulda been nice to have one.
