I use the Diamond K550 mounted to the expanded metal floor of the roof rack. It stays down most of the time but when I'm road tripping or want to use it, it goes up in literally 5 seconds. I have easily 7 mile clear reception while doing 75 down the freeway. I have a 5' Firestick and on spring in case I forget and go through a drive through. Lol.
How did you run your coax wire? I have a gobi rack on my 4th gen and want to do this but unsure where to run the wire through. I'm trying to decide between this or CBI mount.

Will this work for a HAM antenna?
Yes, but you must widen the hole. Here are are some pictures of my HAM antenna.

Nice, thanks. What is that type of mount called? Is that the same as what would be used for a roof mount? I've only ever used a magnet mount so not familiar with the different types of mounts available.

If you are talking about what the antenna is mounted to, I believe it is a ditch light bracket. I believe CBI sells them but really you can probably use any brand.

I had a ham antenna on the CBI ditch bracket on my '15 Trail. I do not remember the model number but it had a 3/8" stud that went through the bracket and did not require the 3/4" hole NMO mounts normally require so no drilling of the bracket. I seem to recall that Larsen makes one of these but mine was a Telco, Teledyne or something along that type of name.
I just did a search on Google for < 3/8 inch NMO mount > and there were several. Mine was from PCTel. The top section is like a normal NMO mount so many ham antennas will work with it.

Rago Fabrications has a new CB antenna mount option. Looks nice and mounts just beneath the rear driver side tail lights.

Here's a link to my post about the mount. I don't have any measurements right now but I can have them for you tomorrow. It took a few hours to make and was mostly eyeballed.

Both are diamond K400 mounts. CB is a 3ft tuned Firestik, and the other is a Diamond dual band antenna for HAM.
