2006 4runner suspension continued:
Heres some pic of the front setup and back setup in with the new tires

2006 4runner Specs:

Suspension up front sitting on Maxtrac 4 inch spindles(yes sadly only 2wd) with Bilstein 5100's set at 0 with 2.5 inch toytec lift coils with a quarter inch spacer on the top, JBA UCA, and extended brake lines.

On the Rear - Fj 3.5 inch lift coils with the extendo fox 2.0 shocks with resi's, longer swayers from energy suspension, and soon to come is the inside lift block with air ride inside the fj coils to beef it up with lower links coming also(but that won't be on for another week or so)

Tires are 35x12.50 and only barely rub when offroad and flexed up or pinned into the fender well when turning, Ive got Body mount chops from relentless fab that Im in the process of welding on to fix this but really it fits the 35's very easy as i got almost 8 inches up of lift on the front from stock! Love the way it rides and handles, It had just the 3/2 toytec lift on it with 33's but decided to change it out and it was the best decision, Breaks necks everytime i get on the road (;

How do you like the fox 2.0’s? I’m going to be upgrading my shocks soon and have been looking at these more recently.

Thanks man, appreciate it! The Fox 2.0 are awesome no doubt about it!! They def do their job and ride great! would recommend. Although if I had the extra cash I would have probably gotten King long travel shocks with the reservoirs but either way you are not going to be disappointed

Awesome, that’s good to know! My initial plan was to go with 5100’s all around but at the moment I’m leaning more towards the Fox 2.0’s. I’d love to get some Icons or Kings but I need/want to upgrade my suspension all at once and the price point for that right now is out of my range.

If I can get them ordered through the local shop here that I go to I’ll likely be going with the 2.0’s over the 5100’s. We’ll see. Thanks for the response man, and welcome to the forums!

Note to self, more RPM is needed. Tires are loaded with sticky mud.

New lift yesterday, new tires today, test mission after work.

Icon stage 2 with SPC UCAs, 275/70/17 BFGs.

Rubs a little bit on the fender and on the sway bar if I really try.

Preciate it! and yessir ordered the pieces off of custom car grills and put it all together, they got some pretty cool grills if you are looking to upgrade!

Thats correct. Its a C4 Fab low pro winch bumper without the bullbar. Install was straight forward with the instructions posted on here by C4.

Hope that link works. I just had my iPad next to me in the garage and scrolled down as i went. It has all the various tools needed to complete the lift.

I did have to modify two of the bolt holes to get it to line up. I'm pretty sure its because I bent my frame after tearing off a front tie down loop during recovery once. The quality of the C4 product is superb.

I went with KYB quick struts for an FJ along with a 1" spacer on top. I got over 2.5 inches of lift in front. Even after settling. Rear 1.5" daystar spacers along with KYB shocks. 265/70/17 Hankook Dynapro Atm tires. Measurements from ground to fender (I know its not the preffered way to measure) are

Front Driver 37 1/4"
Front pass. 37 3/8"
Rear Driver 37 3/4"
Rear Pass 38"

I am very happy with the way it handles compared to old stock parts. I don't off road much. In fact it has never seen mud. yet.... I also replaced lower control arms with aftermarket ones. And Upper control arms with Freedom off road that correct caster. Getting another alignment done this week. Also switched the rear sway bar links with longer 2nd gen ones with poly bushings and putting on a sway bar relocate bracket in the front due to contact on the lower spring perch. Heres some pics. sorry for the uneven ground and the after lift pic is before the front settled an inch. Ill update this with better pics soon.

Installed my lift today. Took about 5 hours. I installed Wheelers T1/T12 springs and bilstein 5100 shocks. I forgot to measure before the lift. Wish I did so I could figure out how much overall lift I got. Overall I am happy with it, I wish I got more lift out of it though. It seems to ride much smoother down the road and I think it is sitting at the height it should have sat at new.

295/70/17 Cooper Discoverer STT Pro with steel wheels. I think they are Cragar Soft 8's. I have Toytec 2.0HD rear coils and Toytec/Eibach 2.5" front coils with Bilstein 5100s and SPC UCA's.

A little before and after. Went from a icon front toytec rear to a camburg 3.5 front with kings and a metaltech lt rear with HD springs and 1.5” spacers on top of the coil springs. And some SCS ray10’s 17x8.5 wrapped in nitto 35x12.5

Finally finished my upgrade! Took me 7 hours to do the install all by myself which was a bit longer than I expected, but I'm extremely happy with the result. Biggest hiccups during install was a sway bar bolt that kept spinning, leaking inner CV boots, and the time it took to fit the rear springs. I used the bottle jack method on the rear axle and it just took forever to turn that thing. I prepped everything by watching YouTube videos and made sure I had all the right tools. Ratcheting wrenches are a must and the strap wrench for the rear shocks was clutch. Specs are:

Bilstein 5100s all around, set to 0
OME 884 front with 1/2" spacer on driver and 3/8" spacer on passenger
Toytec Superflex rears
SPC UCA's
Nitto Terra Grapplers G2 285/70/17
Spidertrax spacers

Alignment came in perfect, I'm glad I got the upper control arms. I think the tires are perfect and the spacers give it a nice stance. Let me know if you have any questions!
