Toytec Ultimate

If you go with the Toytec package I suggest adding extended rear sway bar links and also to remove the front sway bar to get the most travel and still a good street ride for little added expense. Note that with 32.1 inch tires I still had to adjust the front wheelwell plastic to eliminate tire rub. Not hard but to be expected. Have fun w your trip!

Hey also if your going to get the toytec kit you you mid as well just get the Boss kit as their almost the same price, I think it's a better kit because the front coil overs are there own brand and are rebuild able rather than the 5100s in the ultimate kit

You should look at buying some FJ Cruiser wheels, that way you won't need to add spidertrax spacers. Then you can sell you existing wheels to recoup some cash.

Alright im interested, do FJ wheels have different offset to allow wider taller wheels? Is there a specific year or style wheel that is better? Id rather do that then spacers, however I dont have the cash to do everything and something like aftermarket wheels yet.

(so much for being on a budget)( do it right or dont do it..right? lol) the give the option for the body lift... worth it? do it later? hard to do? pros-cons? This is a daily driven vehicle

I run FJ Cruiser wheels with 285/70/17. Any year or style will work. Yes they have a different offset. IIRC you can also run Sequoia, Tundra, or GX470 wheels.

That is excellent information that even after some time reading and lurking the forums I haven't read about. I thought people just did FJ wheels ect, for the look. Thank you.

It's really up to you on the BL it all depends on how high you want to go up,the BL will just give you some extra clearance in your wheel wells and F/R bumper clearance. Which helps with running bigger wheels and tires etc. I actually just did a 1/2 one that a member on here makes just to help with a little extra clearance, i mean with a 1/2 you can barely tell but it was really easy to install and didn't require a steering extension spacer or a radiator re location bracket which i'm pretty sure the 1" one needs.

Yeah you can a BL whenever you choose, also if you going to be doing the boss lift i would definitely just do that first because i've seen others do that lift and they get some pretty good lift results so i would do it first and if you still want more lift then do the BL.

yeahh, honestly the more I read and research the more that becomes clear to me. I call it the expensive truth. lol


So in the 285/70/17 size what tires do you recommend? Any feedback from anyone on the mickey ATZ p3's... I know its a fairly new tire but there isnt much out there on it. I saw a few sets on different vehicles in person and loved the way the look. SO much better in person then in pictures..

Yes, stock uca. I'll see if I can dig up a picture. I run the Bilstien 5100 fronts on the top notch and Toytec superflex rear with 285 70 17 Hankook MT.

If you are getting tires, skip the spacers and just get wheels with the proper offset so you dont need spacers. You can get a set of 17X8 or 17X9 inch wheels for $400.. probably less than what you woudl pay for fj wheels anyway.

The spacers are $200 and you can probably sell you old wheels and tires for that, to keep your money out of pocket similar.
