I ended up cutting mine for right now. You do loose some of the depth if you use it for a step.
Here is mine before my lift.
How do you like your KO2s and what size did you go with?
Good looking sliders BTW!

I'm at a conference for work and won't have my T4R until tomorrow sometime. If you scroll back a page or two, I posted pics of the rear bumper I installed and one is a full side profile where you can see the rocker panel and running boards.
I can grab more pics tomorrow so let me know if there's something specific you'd like to see.
I've had the kit and sliders on for several years at this point (almost 3) and I have zero issues with rust. That being said, I live in central Texas and things like ice, snow, and the associated chemicals and such are a non-issue here.
EDIT: Just noticed you're in DFW. Rust shouldn't be an issue for you either. The powder coating is very well done.

Thanks. I went with 275/70/17 KO2s and I do like them. I'm not sure if I have them balanced right yet or not as above 70mph, things get a little rough, but I haven't been able to take them back in for rebalance yet.

FINALLY got BFG KO2s and the FN Pro wheels installed just in time for a trip in 2 weeks! Can't wait to test these out.

EDIT: The crooked cap at the front is all me (noticed it after I took the picture). The rear of the trim where it looks uncovered is hidden by the rear door.

I'm really liking it! Hasn't changed the feel of the ride much but you can tell a difference in the rear when going over bumps.

Installed Daystar 2.5 level on my 17 LE yesterday, slightly stiffer than stock; nosedive braking reduced quite a bit. Happy with street/highway performance but offroad the rear is too stiff.
Getting Kings in a few months.
Get smaller rims to give you room for more rubber and that will soften it up nicely. I don't have the Daystar spacers on my 16LE yet, but my 17" BFG KO2's with lower air pressures off-road seem softer than the 20's.
