ILX-207 Alpine PDR-F50 Speakers

Finally done and I'm beat.

Took me about 4 days. Doors a solid 2 days with running new wires through the B-pillar...carefully drilling through the plastic plug and then fish the 14AWG speaker wire to the new speakers. The front doors were a bit easier fishing the wires through the rubber tubing.

The idatalink module albeit great features/functions is a $itch to cable up and stow away. I paid the extra cash for crutchfield to make the ready harness. They only thing they messed up was not providing my remote wire to the amp. They had it all taped up and zip tied. Had to under a few inches of tape and tap into the blue/white to run to my amp.

Used TacoTunes speakers front and rear plus their amp rack that I had to slightly modify.

Everything else came from Crutchfield. Love their tech support and used them to troubleshoot my rear camera.

Overall, sounds terrific. Love Apple CarPlay. I'll be on Advil likely for a few days. Hats off to those that do this for a living. Although I enjoy this type of work, it's a bear routing everything. I've got my fill of mods for at least a few weeks or more.

Blacking out the chrome does so much for the LEs. I just wish the bumpers didn't come down so far in front and rear. I want to stuff bigger tires under mine after ditching xreas for proper suspension and lift (2.5") but don't think I'll have nearly the room to do so. 275 55 r20 now, wanted to move to 285s (def won't fit) so now I'm kinda stuck at 275 60 max :/

Which parts are easiest to have wrapped vs dip? I really want to do my front bumper but dreading the area around fogs. I dipped side emblems, but definitely dipped and removed a few times before I got em the way I wanted.

I also want to cover up.the silver/chrome hatch part on the rear tailgate under Toyota and leave my painted letters...I guess dip is my best option there?

Holy hell, I admire your patience! The end result is perfect though. What made you choose the ilx207? I keep going back and forth between a couple of Kenwood excelon units. I definitely want Android auto, don't care if it's wireless or not since I usually keep my phone plugged in. Can't decide on a DVD unit or just multimedia. I'm definitely happy with the JBL speakers in mine, but the head unit Toyota uses is well beyond its sell-by date (especially.considering what they have available in other vehicles!)

On my Tundra I did the AVIC 8400NEX. The wireless CarPlay was nice, but I had to reboot (ie: restart the truck) the radio at least once a week because it would freeze up or I would loose steering wheel functions.

This time I went with the Alpine. One of the big reasons...form factor. The amount of cables/harnesses with the idatalink module plus the RCA cables make it a bear getting it all behind the radio without crimping a harness. The half size in the rear made it easier to get all the wires behind the radio. I looked at the ILX-107, but I really enjoy HD Radio and the 107 doesn't have that.

I added a USB for my unit to an empty blank by the rear window button. I use a 6" lightening able from that new port into the cup holder where my phone is. Looks nice with the short cable and the rubber cub holder keeps my phone held in. I use the cup holder in front of the USB/AUX plug for my water bottle now.

Bluetooth streaming works great as well. Sometimes I don't plug the USB in and the sound is still great. There are a ton of custom tuning details on the radio. I just use the "Rock" EQ preset and it's fine for me.

Has anyone experienced any performance issues after installing the 17" wheels on the Limited? Shifting seem a little jerky compared to the stock 20s.

i did notice this after switching to 285s--i assumed that it's due to the added weight

NO issues here. Just notice a little more wheel noise, but since the Terra are much more aggressive than the Geolander factory I expected this.

Also, do you like the aFe intake? Any 'real' noticeable change?

I recently completed the rocker panel mod. Thank you [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] for your instructions. They helped me a lot. I have more pictures of the process that I can post later if anyone is interested.

Also, a picture of my recent fly fishing trip.

I also replaced the 20in limited wheels with trail wheels. I like the look better but am thinking it's still not quite enough.

I'm torn between the SCS Ray 10 or the FN Overlander Spec B. Matte gunmetal color for either.

I'm installing my 17" trd pro wheels this week. Went with 275/70 KO2's. One of the guys that works at my local Discount Tire said the Wildpeaks were too noisy and had a little wobble feel on his t4r. Surprisingly KO2's came out cheapest for me with the Costco price match =)

I was debating the wildpeaks when I did my swap, haven't regretted going with the KO2's. Did lose some gas mileage, but worth it.

All of the chrome on the grille was dipped, as we're the emblems. Wrapping would be tough especially around the fogs like you said. I used wrap for the chrome on the sides (by the windows and at the bottom). As far as the emblem on the back, I think the dip is your best bet.

Also, do you like the aFe intake? Any 'real' noticeable change?

RAV4 mirrors are definitely nice! I personally noticed a slight increase in mpg (maybe 1-2) with the intake especially on the highway, and of course a nice throaty growl when accelerating. It does come along with a high pitched whistle that was kind of annoying at first, but I'm used to it by now. As far as HP, not really.

Yes!!! I haven't seen anyone post pics of just cornfed 1/2" spacers so I just went and tried it. I love how the look came out.

I need to pick up some cornfeds for the front of my limited. It'll be awhile before I do any substantial suspension upgrades.
