Had to sell Kylo due to changing life priorities. It was a good truck and will be missed.

Hey all! This will be my pic/adventure/mod thread for my 2016 Trail Premium Magnetic Gray that we're affectionately calling "Kylo". :vader:

I previously owned an '01 SR5 that I had built just a little bit. I sold it to my dad for my younger brothers to use so it'll stay in the family.

White Rim trail 3/5/2016 with less than 500 miles on the clock.

Same spot a little over one year and 22,000 miles later. 3/11/2017

First Trip - White Rim, March 4-6, 2016

The lighting was total crap this weekend.

We camped in Horsethief campground the first night. It's a BLM campground that's just a few miles outside of the Island in the Sky park entrance. The second night we had a permit for Potato Bottom B. You must get permits in advance to camp overnight. I don't think they do campground reservations in person for that same day. We just booked ours online. The White Rim is super popular and it's nearly impossible right now to get any sites over a weekend before the end of June. We're trying to get two sites on top of Murphy's Hogback for the end of June and they're being very persnickety about it. Can't book two sites with one trip leader, can't have all the people from both sites hanging out in one for dinner, etc.

Nice! We had pretty good weather considering. Cloudy, not too hot during the day but kind of chilly at night. Drove through a hellacious rain/sleet/hail storm on the way home. I might be tempted to go again! It's a fun drive. I need some better tires as soon as I can afford them, I was constantly worried about the stock Duelers all weekend. Got some gnarly scuffs on the sidewalls on them.
Are you going to pull the trailer down the road? Some parts of it were pretty sketchy this weekend and I hope they do some maintenance on it soon. The backside of Murphy's was in terrible shape, there were some very deep unavoidable mud ruts in several places, and the climb out of the Potato Bottom area was also in terrible condition.

Nice! We had pretty good weather considering. Cloudy, not too hot during the day but kind of chilly at night. Drove through a hellacious rain/sleet/hail storm on the way home. I might be tempted to go again! It's a fun drive. I need some better tires as soon as I can afford them, I was constantly worried about the stock Duelers all weekend. No real plans, but it's my wifes first time there so was going to be somewhat mellow. I.e. going to do Arches one day, though may offroad over to chimny arch.

Definately Hurrah pass/chicken corners. Then down south to see er.. the big cave arch/ cliff homes and eventually the anticline overlook with a side offroad trip to a nice picnick area on the cliffs overlooking the colorado.

You could always go in the backside of Needles via Beef Basin and Bobby's Hole if she's not willing to do Elephant Hill (although Bobby's Hole can be just as bad apparently). We tried to go out that way the one time I've been over Elephant Hill when I was a teenager but Bobby's Hole was axle deep in snow and we didn't have any air compressors with us. This summer my dad wants to go to the Maze via the Flint Trail since we've never been that way before.

We tried to go out that way the one time I've been over Elephant Hill when I was a teenager but Bobby's Hole was axle deep in snow and we didn't have any air compressors with us. This summer my dad wants to go to the Maze via the Flint Trail since we've never been that way before.

I went in through Elephant Hill last year and then out through bobby's hole and it had been recently graded (as well as it could be) So if it hasn't had a massive storm damage it again it may be ok. Though to find out you have to go down SOB hill getting back up is "fun". In fact the hardest thing in that area when we went was SOB hill! That 90 degree corner with a ledge at the top...
