Outside of the OP, it's funny to me how the people complaining that this forum gets too off-base have now hijacked this thread completely.

you missed the entire point of the OP's post....it's the redundant, relentless stoopid topics that clog this place with inane BS.

"Does this plasiti-dip make my ass look fat?"

"Do these 285's rub on my ass(and will they )...and make it look fat?"

"Should I get a Super White...especially if makes my ass look fat?"

or, my all time favorite....

"I searched, but couldn't find any topic relating to my ass looking fat, what do guys think?"

I could go through the last 12 pages of topics here and find 100 threads that could EASILY have been answered with a simple search...and I mean simple. Now, before all the safe spacers get their panties in a knot, I understand that's how the new guys learn....but after being subjected to reading a relentless barrage of the same question over and over, it's just easier now to throw poo...and more fun...:heh:

I can answer all of those with one word.... YES

I think your ass is probably fat, or you have a fat-ass fetish, or both.

I'm aware that there are a lot of redundant threads especially ones with forever asked questions. I believe that there should be 2 sticky's added to this sub forum.

1 - a sticky with detailed instructions on how to conduct a search complete with tips and tricks to narrow a search down. This should help some newer members out with familiarizing themselves with it. (as stupid as it sounds a lot of people either don't realize there's a search option or just don't know how to use it.)

2 - a sticky with quick links to frequently asked questions/solutions.

These might not totally eliminate unnecessary threads but it should help limit them.

At the end of the day we don't want to discourage users/members (whether new or old)from asking questions. We are here to help each other out.

** um, you read the stickies lately?

** Good idea, now we need you to volunteer to collect and catalog all those.

..... it is either going to get:

1. Moved to the correct sub forum
2. Merged in to one of the thousands of threads we have on your special topic
3. Just deleted because I don't have time to do the other two.

Remember we have a lot of other sub forums like, general, off topic, tires and wheels, etc. Post there please.

You have been warned.

I cannot like this enough. I have not spent as much time here recently because the same "new" topics get started over and over again. Merging topics that are asking the same general question that was asked in 2011 is brilliant. They can use google to search... every question CAN be found that way. I think part of the issue is those who exclusively use the phone app. You CANNOT rely on that stupid app to search. Trust me I've tried. They have to go to google.... it's only a few taps away people!!!

I disagree with this in it's entirely.

I disagree. Before I posted on this forum, I read posts... for like a year. I read posts for so long, that my account went dormant and was disabled. By the time I posted something for the first time, I had to create a new account.

Then I met some forum members and wheeled my truck BONE stock. Then I needed answers....

I found ALL the answers to all of my questions on the google machine... it directs me back to this forum. Every. Single. Time.

........

The clutter does get really old..

Personally, The thing that pisses me off more than anything... Is when someone post a problem. One of those please help threads. Lots of people spend the time to respond with suggestions... then the OP just never responds with the outcome... That is 100% noise and those people should be banned as far as I'm concerned. It's extremely self centered BS and it happens constantly. The purpose of the forum is to give and take... but many people just want to take.

This. SO MUCH THIS.

THIS.... People can use google... hell, there's even a thread on how to search.

http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-g...ner-owner-need-help-searching-start-here.html

--------------------------------------

My best advice for searching.... (for those offended)

1. go to the google machine
2. Type in: T4R, 5th Gen, Plastidip (or whatever you are searching for)
3. Hit enter

So easy.... even a chick can do it.

I know... crazy.

I spend most of my time here now searching. I update my own thread when things happen (which is why it's a Build and Adventure thread). Oh... and I text Antman
