My 2013 TE is here!!!

my local is advertising a 2013 with this VIN: JTEBU5JR5D5110554
A VIN search does say 2013 model.
I'm going to check it out today if it's available

Nice, congrats! Might want to consider taking all the wraps off yourself - kinda like unwrapping a xmas present.
I've also seen some **** pre-delivery prep.
Also see if you can get a full tank of fuel - some dealers do, some don't.

I am. The official press release stated that the SR5 grade model would be receiving the switch and ipod location change. No where in it did it say the TE was changing. I along with probably most everyone else assumed that the TE would be affected by that too...it obviously wasn't though. I guess you never know what an auto manufacturer is thinking but in sticking with Toyota tradition it is highly unlikely that they would make a mid year change especially considering next years models will probably see the mid gen changes/facelift

The '03's had a pretty big change 1/2 way through with the changing of gray cladding to body color. (SR5's, Sport's)

He said he works for an auto group that owns two Toyota franchises. Unless he started there last week I am pretty sure Irishmjm knows a little bit about Toyotas and the ins and outs of car dealerships and their practices. He probably didn't have to deal with that greasy pinky ring wearing salesman, and got such a good deal on the truck that he could care less if they gave him a tank of gas, but would not refuse it. Hey I bet he can even get Toyota parts for cost or cost + 10.

It will be interesting to see what happens! Anyone here have a 13' SR5 yet? We should see the switch and new USB location there though!

13 te

On the MSRP sticker Toyota always list "full tank of gas", even though the cost for this comes out of the dealers pocket. When they arrive from port they usually only have a small amount of gas in them. A dealer friend of mine, when I lived in California, told me this back in the 90's. I also saw the guys in the vehicle prep dept putting the gas in them.

You couldn't be more right! As far as the gas goes it kind of a best practice to include a full tank on delivery of a new vehicle... if the window sticker states "full tank of gas" that means the dealership paid Toyota to fill it at port...most dealers wont do that because of cost, cheaper to do it themselves.

Nice rig, now comes the mods.....

Since you have a 13, could you do me a favor? Turn on the rear window wiper. Does the blade travel all the way? Or is it still like our 10-12 models, where the blade only travels and cleans 2/3rds of the rear window?

If they changed the gearing in the wiper motor for 2013, might have to swap it out with the current one if it still fits......thanks in advance. Be Safe.

I definitely will once its in my driveway, hopefully sat. and ill let you know. unfortunately being i work at my store during the toyotas store hours its hard to get there and make it all happen. It'll be wed. at the latest that i pick it up. I have a few mods for it already and a few things ordered...n-fab wheel to wheel step bars textured, defiant low mount light bar (waiting for it to be fabricated, like 2 weeks he said), a pair of PIAA 520 ATP lights to mount on it, a set of Fuel wheels (still having a hard time deciding which tires tho), and some minor stuff like Weathertech wind visors... i have a hood deflector on my '04 that i love but have no idea who made it so im still on the fence with which one im gonna go with...any ideas or suggestions on other mods would be appreciated. While i will use my truck for playing in the mud, i don't plan on lifting it. Let me know your thoughts...
