Glad you have your truck back. I hope the damage isn't too bad.
Police don't give a **** about a stolen car. It kind of makes sense, really. That's a lot of effort for a slap-on-the-wrist offense.

I'm glad they found it Danny. What else would you use to hit up some trails with us then. Hopefully 2013 is a better year for you. Sure glad the family is safe. We all learn from our mistakes. See you on the next run whenever someone sets it up. Be safe all.

On the bright side... I hear that the ****ed up dash board mod adds about 45 hp.

= I asked them to come spread black powder all over my vehicle and go through the motions of dusting for prints.
Maybe the cost of the finger print powder clean up will exceed the value of the vehicle and it will be totaled.

That sucks...You have to prees the start button to shut off as I found out one day when I stopped by the mall and the wife took the car. Luckily she wasn't too far. I also left my car running for 4 hrs in the parking lot at my office--almost ran out of gas!
But glad to hear that some thing went right. I'd like bash those %$@#&^%$* faces in for you. Theft gives such a violated feeling.

Happy to hear that you got your car back Danny but sorry all this happened. My wife would leave her car started while she dropped my daughter off at the babysitters and since reading this thread I told her she shouldn't do that anymore. I've told her that before but she never listened, told me no one knows it's even on. She has a hybrid Camry and you can't really tell it's on but from time to time the engine turns on for a second or 2 while it's idle.

Glad they found it......but makes me think twice about adding a remote start. Good news is you and family are all OK. Truck can be replaced/repaired.
I caught a guy trying to break into my car to steal my dad's vette a long time ago--chased his ass all over the neighborhood. Told him when he came out from hiding in someone's yard I had a "present" for him. We never had any more instances of auto opportunists.

@ Lilsid - I took some pictures, but the pictures don't show justice to what we went through.
@NHinAK - we weren't totally out of the pictures, my mom saw them and we all ran outside witnessed the car driving away.
@fdm - I've told all my friends and relatives not to do that any more. The cops said this happens all the time, and all it takes is being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's just not worth it. The tow yard tells me they get 60 stolen vehicles a month SIXTY! and that's just one tow yard.
My take is that our economy is getting worse and people will get more desperate. The good thing is I hear that most new cars are near impossible to hot-wire, especially with a FOB.
@tacobill - autostart is different, the car will shut off as soon as you hit the breaks without having the FOB near by.
We got in a car and chased after them but they were gone.

Don't have running boards, the sliders are there and the rims are there.
The tools to take out the spare were laying out but the spare and all the rims were there. My guess is they didn't have the key lock to undo the rims and couldn't figure out how to to undo the spare since it's a little tricky to do on our trucks.

Just read this thread...what a horrible mess. Scums like that will get what they deserve eventually. Glad you got it back and hope the insurance company is reasonable.

Sorry to hear about the situation man. Nashman said it best, feeling violated about sums it. Parents had their vehicles stolen 3 times, 2 times were on the same vehicle, it was a1990 camry too lol stolen car stereos 2 times. Yeah it sucks, but I'm very glad your little one was not in the truck, your tone would be very different if that happened, and they would be charged for kidnapping. I keep imagining if my kid was in the back seat and the truck was stolen, and I keep getting pissed! Any parent knows what I'm talking about. In light of that, I would say it could be worse, thankfully it wasn't!

that's the worse part is the feeling violated. In addition they took my cameras which have pictures of the wife and I, the baby.. Video of the inside of the house. It has not been a fun experience and constantly looking out the window. Again, thanks everyone for your support!!!!
