I seen on a thread not sure where but the dude cut the ends of the hitch and welded it to the frame, not sure if was a good or bad idea but it looked super clean, I kinda hate the look of some of the tow hitches mounted on the runners makes the rear end look mento lol

I have done that, it tucks the hitch up behind the bumper makes it look nice and clean.

Did this in 1/2hr and wanted to do this from Jan. Didn't even know there was a write up for this mod until last night. Lol great minds think alike. Well here it is
What'd you cut the bumper with? Angle grinder? Dremel? I want the cleanest cut I can get, but usually I prefer the angle grinder to everything else.

Used a cutoff wheel. Faster than the dremel. Taped it off first and did the cutting after. Cutting and taping took about 5min. Not bad for FREE.

Don't weld so that would be a no go fo me and yes some of them looks like ads dragging.

Someone called it Frankenstein! So I'll just go with it.
That's why I love Toyota so much, because you can upgrade your vehicle to make it better by using OEM parts from other TOYOTA vehicles.

Thank you and the paint was Rust-oleum black paint spray can. I just disassembled the whole bumper to get under and over. Didn't want to mask it off. It would of taken longer I think. Plus I sprayed front and back of the bumper to prevent rust.

I had these in my parts drawer and I decided to put it on. Its from a HDJ81 Toyota LandCruiser. I had it on my 91 FJ80. Before I sold the truck I had installed the clears from Mot from IH8MUD.
