Nice except you can buy two sets of Outpost Offroad sliders from MetalTech for the price of one set of those...ouch. I remember seeing when these first debuted on the 5th gen thread about 6ish months ago, number one issue was the price.

They aren't that much more than the average pair of sliders..

anyone know if the 4R in the photo is a member on here?
 
I bought Rocky Roads and welded steps to them..pretty painless actually.

I know the diamond plate look isn't for everyone, but you could put steel on them and traction tape....thinking out loud

I have seen yours and very much love them... I wish I had the tools or talent to duplicate what you've done. That was my first choice and actually asked John at White Knuckle if he would be up to making some like yours, he wasn't lol.

Most sliders don't provide enough space to plant a foot as a step, that's been the challenge. If you have kids, you know what I mean, it's necessary and is more safe to have something like you did (squared off) rather than rounded, less potential for slipping.

Group buy on Titanpat sliders?!!! lol

If you buy the sliders from Glenn 2 RR..I have a Sketch Up file I could send to you that any welder with a little talent could make up for you. Maybe even Glenn would make them...can't hurt to ask. I could ask on Mud if there's any welders near your town that could get you a price.

Can't recommend enough the BudBuilt with full tread. Kids clamber up and down on mine all the time. Without them they wouldnt be able to get in.

Great step and protection, not to mention they look awesome. One of the best upgrades I can think of on my truck.

Edit: I think the rounded tubes prevent some damaged shins as well, mine and the kids.

the SLE sliders to not appear to use bolt on gussets, so you are correct.. no dice with XREAS. I'm not quite sure why they didn't simply say "SR5 and No KDDS TE's only".

As you can see, the back plate covers the frame, meaning you would have to do some serious surgery to move the XREAS lines out of the way enough where the legs of the sliders would not interfere.

They also require TE rockers, Shrockworks rockers, or trimmed SR5 rockers.

They look nice though!

I offered them my truck to work on a KDSS version for discount but they said no dice.

They are expensive but once you pay for shipping and powdercoating from Bud, they're not much more than the full treads... though I'm already having issues with the powdercoating getting scratched so for me they might end up being the same price once I fix this.

Such is life eh?

When i scraped the powdercoating on my Shrockworks, I just cleaned the area, used a mild sand paper to key the surface, sprayed some black primer followed by some black (202) duplicolor and voila; looks great and ready for the next impact.

I bought some 3M non-slip tape but I'll use your method to clean it up before I put the tape on.

I will be doing a full write up on Metal Tech's OPOR sliders in the near future. [MENTION=76752]helocat[/MENTION] and [MENTION=80984]LT[/MENTION] needed confirmation that their SR5 sliders will work for a limited with XREAS. Even though I've removed the struts/shocks of the XREAS system, the hydraulic canister is still there.

For those of you looking to install sliders that serve the purposes of a step and do NOT want to remove the factory rocker panels, I believe this is the choice for you! I will not be doing any hardcore rock crawling and I believe the loss of 2" ground clearance at the rockers is negligible. These sliders look to be my ticket.

I think it should work w/ the XREAS lines (since I haven't heard any one with an LE complaining about shrockworks sliders NOT fitting :))

The design seems similar to what you are looking for, maybe you can see if they still offer these...

Yes, please do! I would be interested to see what they would charge. Glenn is over at RR i take it? Would he be interested an fabricating ones similar to yours?

They do look nice and very different from the rest. I applaud them for the innovative design!

I didn't even notice the back plate cover issue, guess this rules them out completely.

Exactly! The price isn't that much more. Too bad they only work with TE's with out KDDS, I wonder how many the have sold with that limited of an inventory, 5 total? lol
