Where did you get the black out for the pin stripes on the front grill? What color tires? Gunmetal gray or black? Any pictures from the side and back? What size tires? Any lift?

Yeah if you only want to do some of the badges this is the way to go. I just did all the badges/letters so I got the plastic overlay kit. I really like the black look. Cute pup!

How did you manage to match the blue so well? Did you get it painted by a body shop or is it plastidip, wrap? It looks like exactly what I want for mine.

Are you talking about the badges? They are black not body color.

I might've looked at it wrong but it looks to me like the housing (where the 4runner text is) on the rear hatch looks like its body-paint matched to nautical blue. Mine is chrome right now and desperately looking for a long-term solution to get rid of the chrome.

Oh OK I get ya. Yes it is body color, it's an SR5 that's how they come from the factory.

After driving my Subaru Outback Wilderness for 3 months I decided I hated all the tech and the CVT. So on an impulse I drove by my closest dealership to see if they had a 4R. They had 3. I locked in on a Barcelona Red which was 2WD. Then I saw the Nautical blue which I have always thought looked great. Looked inside and saw the beige interior which I thought would be great in Texas summers. I definitely had my reservations because the color will show every imperfection. I walked in and said I will take it. 90 minutes later I drove away. They gave me $2K more than I paid for my Wilderness. It has multiple dents in it from the flimsy aluminum panels.

Immediately I knew being in the 4R was the right decision. I figured I could do without the crawl control and rear locker. Still question my decision for the Nautical blue, but I think its an amazing color from a distance. Up close my OCD could be an issue. Just happy to be back in a 4R.

I know what you mean about the color. A good ceramic coating goes a long way but like any dark color it will show any blemishes. I think it's worth it every time I look at it when it's clean. The color just pops.

It does pop. Just not sure I want to invest into ceramic coating.

I did it myself and it's worth the work. I washed it with dawn twice to get off any remaining wax. Depending on how dirty it is you should clay bar, wash, use an iron remover and wash again. This is why it's so expensive to have it done. There's a lot of prep work. Mine was in pretty good shape and I'm lazy so after the dawn washes I did the ceramic. The shine, slickness and ease of removal of bird poop and bugs is amazing. I did it in early August so it hasn't been on that long but when it rains or I wash it the beading is amazing. This is what I used. Ceramic Spray Coating: Ceramic Slam – Lithium Auto Care.
Whatever you do just enjoy it, I love this ride.
