Started my build....
Silver 2005 Sports Edition.
Plasti-dipped the grill, emblem and lower valance. I like how it looks, kind of a rough matte plastic appearance. The first round I followed the directions on the can and it looked terrible.. Do not follow the directions on the can.
Clean the area. Mask off or disassemble.
Take your time doing the coats. Start from one side, keeping the can about 12" away from the surface, do small sections with very light coats. Do not soak the thing black. The area you are dipping should look like it has black speckles for the first pass. Do small sweeping motions allowing time to dry before adding layers (bare minimum is 15min i'd say). It will build up and look great. If you go to fast and soak the s#@$ out of it, it will pit, bubble or crack. The good thing is if you make a mistake just peel it off and start over.
Stereo Install
I had the most basic head unit in my truck. Non-JBL non-RDS. I got a Pioneer AVH-P4400H stereo unit with Metra install kit and the Scosche harness. I found some directions on the forums with pics. Super easy. Once I did it, I figured I could take it all apart in about 5min. The metra kit also came with instructions. I used 22-18 gauge butt connectors on the scosche and pioneer harness. All the colors matched up. The stock speakers sound a lot better with a new head unit but are still gonna be replaced. All the tools you need for this is a 10mm socket wrench and wire cutters with clamp.
Next week I install the daystar spacer kit 2.5" front and 1.5" rear. Also maybe powder coating the stock sport rims.
