Yes. thanks! The OP did a great job of documenting the install. It all makes much more sense to me now. The hard part is trying to figure out which model cameras to get. I'm leaning towards the 590W-2CH. Although B&H has a 650S-2CH for $219. I hate spending money on technology that goes old so quickly.

I went with the 900S-2CH but any of them are great. I'd lean toward the 590W-2CH, it has wifi. I'm looking for a portable hotspot so it can broadcast 24/7. I'll use the PMP and a splitter for the 12v outlets.

I'm waaaaay too cheap for the 900s or even the 750s. The reviews and vids from them look amazing tho.

One note, I made some changes to make the parts fit a little bit better together and uploaded updated files yesterday. If you downloaded the earlier files I highly recommend downloading the updated ones.

Quite the opposite, they fit very tightly together. Not totally unworkable, but not elegant. The second iteration is merely an improvement.

The original files worked fine and are what I'm using, but I printed a second and had issues fitting them together so I increased the clearances on the triple pronged connections. The upside is, I or anyone else that printed using the original files they can continue to use the piece that connects to the camera (and is glued in place) while only replacing the arm and the part mounted directly to the ceiling (via screws).

I hope the first files work, and don't feel like you should cancel the print, but if the pieces are too tight a fit, the second iteration should correct that.

Please let me know what you think once you have them installed. I'd love the feedback.

too tight is always better. hiyoo! I'll let you know on Monday. They are printing at work. for free. nice! still deciding on the cameras tho. I'm gonna have everything wired and brackets mounted and no cameras. d'oh

If you want to try your hand at editing my files, https://www.tinkercad.com is a great easy software to get started, Fusion 360 is another that is fantastic but far more capable and complex.

Free printing is a wonderful thing.

I will certainly try. My boss bought a printer recently and had nothing to print. This was just good timing for something to print.

I did use your updated files and came out nice! Gonna try and match the grey closer and reprint. I will post pics when I am finished.

Sorry for reviving this old thread, but I lack the ability as a new user to start a new one. I recently purchased a 2014 4Runner Limited and I wanted to install a 2-channel dashcam. I selected the Blackvue 900S-2ch. As with any rear mount dashcam in the 4Runner, the sliding rear window does provide for an interesting hurdle to overcome.

There are a lot of innovative methods mentioned in this threat and others on how people have mounted there cameras and I thought it could be helpful for others if I added my solution to the mix.

I took inspiration from all that's been done before but I wanted to mount the cam in such a way that it looked through the portion of the window that's cleaned by the wiper.

I have a BlackVue 650S and I think my fuse taps are in the wrong spots.
I went on a work trip and the truck sat for 20 calendar days and the battery was stone dead when I returned. Not even a click when I tried to crank it.
Use the Genius Battery Booster to jump start the truck and get it home.
I'm thinking that I must have fuse tapped the wrong ones and have the Power Magic Pro switches wrong as well as it should have shut down at the 12.5V mark.

Any advice on what under the dash taps you guys plugged into and what your jumper switches are set at on the Power Magic?

check out post #40 for the correct places to tap (read the details, do not use the picture for the correct fuses).
remember, when you install the PMP in the location under the steering wheel, it is upside down

Previous two I've used were apparently the right spec ( I can't remember details ) but next time I will order directly from Blackvue as they have their own.

When I was researching these cameras blackboxmycar sells this type that they guarantee will work. I found them on new egg insanely cheaper.
