I finished the testing in different modes. The fix works.
If you decided to fix it yourself you just need to remove redundant resistor marked with red (Good one on the right). lexmedic157 did it. You may ask him about complexity of the action if you have doubts. In any case, I will ship you new unit if you return me broken one.

Took all of 5 mins to do it. Desolder the component and put some more shrink tube on it. Haven't had a chance to drive much though.

how are the new units doing with the redundant resistor eliminated? Any new issues arise that nobody brought up yet?
I am ready to purchase but just wanted to make sure it is currently in a good production state without issues

That resistor was wrong idea to make original unit better. Actually, that is the only difference in circuit comparing with the first item built and so called "old" units. So, all we did by removing the resistor is just make it the same as the first one. To be honest, I doubt I will think about improving the unit once again - it is in the shape it should be.
The only known issue I am aware of (that relates to old units and new one) is that some trucks do not switch off VSC in 2WD mode - you need to go 4WD->VSC OFF->2WD to make it happen. My truck does work, some guys say it does work for them as well, some guys say it does not. I doubt we can hack that as it too deep inside VSC ECU.

That's my understanding as well. I also have an 06 v6 and my unit is currently in the mail
As I said earlier, some guys have it works in 2wd as is (Doozi one of them), some guys have it works just after moving into 2wd from 4wd with unlocked center diff but vsc off. It looks like even same truck years have different behavior with the same units. :shrug:
That logic inside ECU and I doubt I can discover what it depends on.
