New first gen?

So im looking to buy another 4runner but im gunna go old school to the first gen 4runner. My question is since im new i dont wanna waste my time buying a lift when there coulld be a better lift some people wouldnt know about? Im really just asking for you guus to inform me on some things i should look forward to when i get my 4runner. (looking from 86-89)

There are possibilities, but it depends in part on what you want to use your truck for - on road, off road, mud, rocks, groceries ...

I pretty much just want a lift to fit km2s 33easily but not leave a major gap. I want it to be a daily user car and have some alright 4wheelin.

Any reason your starting your search in 86 instead of 84? Not interested in a solid axle runner? You can get 2" out of the IFS easy for relatively cheap. which is plenty for 33s.
