New wheels and tires installed I think the 4Runner looks a million times better.

Finally got my 18 inch Limited wheels installed with new Firestone Destination A/T's. I went with 265/65/18's, one size taller than stock, and couldn't be happeir with how they look and ride! I know it's nothing that you haven't seeing a billion times before and it really isn't different from an Urban Runner, but I'm still excited! I'll include a before picture for reference and then lots of after pictures! :biggrin2:

Looks great. I've been looking for that kind of rims here in the midwest(T4r forum), but nobody are selling them. where did you buy them? i saw one on the internet, they are selling about $165 each rim. again, it looks good, and look like an urban runner edition now. If i had one like that, i will only use it during the warm weather and switch back to stock during winter season. Thanks for sharing.

Yes stock suspension for now. For a brief moment after I first saw them on I thought it looked so good that I was second guessing a lift, but after my intinial excitement wore off and looking at it some more I believe I will follow through with the Daystar 2.5/1.5 kit. Note that in the pictures I have my five sport wheels in the back still wieghing it down.

I had been looking for a little while too and had missed out on some really good deals, but finally decided to buy new and start fresh. I paided $154.76 per wheel and $28.74 per center cap. I ordered from 1st Toyota Parts and even after shipping they were still cheaper than buying from my local dealers.
Had thought about only running these in the summer but will need to sell my Sport rims to help offset the cost and plus I just don't have room to store another set of rubber.

Haven't been on the freeway yet, but around town and at 45 MPH plus on country roads they are quieter than the bald Dunlops that were previously on it.

Thanks. I really like the Sport rims too. After having the 4Runner for a few months though I just didn't feel like there was enough contrast from the Sport rims against my silver paint. With the darker Limited wheels I feel that they stand out a little bit more now and don't blend in as much, but that's just my opinion.

Another perk that I discovered was that the smoked chrome grille matches the new wheels really well. Almost looks like it belongs there now. Had thought about going color keyed but will probably keep the smoked chrome grille now.

The Limited wheels are the best looking wheels on the 4th gen in my opinion. The 4th gen Sport wheels look best on a 3rd gen (again in my opinion), which is why I did the same as you and bought Limited wheels. Next you have to get the color keyed grill! That makes a big difference too! I bet you are glad to be rid of those Dunflops! Your ride looks good!

Looks sick man! And when you lift it it will look even better...glad you went with the Destination A/T's. They are super quiet and offer great traction in rain and snow (had them on my 3rd gen and plan on getting them again when my 4th gen needs new rubber)

mdrudy - I'd highly recommend the Destinations A/T's if you do most of your driving on the road. For the price, you can't get a better A/T tire...imo

No rubbing at all. Can't speak for the larger size, but I would imagine any wider or taller from this point would rub on a stock suspension like I still have.
Maybe you could get away with it if you moved the fender liners or trimmed a little bit, but it seems some people have to do this even with having a lift. If you're not lifiting I would stick with one size taller than stock. No rubbing, less efffect on speedo, gearing, and gas milage. Just my opinion though. No noise at all in my expercience. Even quieter than the bald Dunlops I had before.

I have 265/65/18's and I didn't need to do any trimming until I installed spidertrax spacers. Rubbed on both the front and back side (mud flaps) of the front wheels.

Then I installed 1/2" front spacers and the rubbing on the mud flaps stopped completely. I moved the front liners forward and trimmed a tiny bit and rubbing was totally gone.
