Hello, I have a 2011 TE, I have owned an 03 SR5 so after owning that and then a Sequoia and then a Range Rover HSE were back to my favorite of them all. I have been searching old posts for 2 days but have not found the exact info I require. Basically I want to know in what configurations to use all the cool off road options. I know thier not all available in 4H. I would like more info for the MTS also, does this feature help control the KDSS?
I also would like to know if there is an easier way to allow The locker in 4H besides pulling the glovebox. I realize this is actually 3-4 questions, but if I could get a few of you who actually have experience to answer that would be great. sorry for the long post

Thanks that was very helpful!! does anyone have info on the
MTS/ KDSS question or the Locker? Thanks
KDSS has no controls. When the wheel on one side compresses enough, the sway bar disconnects on the opposite side. MTS controls the amount of wheel slippage and nothing else.

Well ,it doesn't actually physically disconnect the sway bars.
In Toyota's own words....."it effectively disconnects" which means it has the same effect as physically disconnecting.
Play on words that had me fooled too until I took some KDSS sway bars loose on a TE to do a lift and saw how they work.

To the OP ..... best way to find out what they all do is go and play with it offroad or in a open lot.... field..Just bring the manual with you and have fun. It's a TE!

Whatever, Jed.

Obie came in with the twenty seven eight-by-ten
colour glossy pictures with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back
of each one explaining how KDSS works.

and the
judge wasn't going to look at the twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy
pictures with the circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each
one explaining that each sway bar was to be used as evidence against us.

2011 TE on the way

Thanks again, I will take you're advice.
I tried a few things last night, it climbs hills great even with stock tires!! I did notice that when turning around it really felt tippy even on a fairly light incline. Maybe my butt gauge needs adjustment.

I think there is a section in the manual that outlines all the different controls and the best time to use them etc.
