NYC-Runner Build Thread

I haven't really been on here much, been super busy with work and family stuff..
I did however take a awesome trip to Maine a couple weeks ago to attend the 3rd annual Moose on the loose run. Such a great trip exploring the norther parts of Maine thru different logging trails and we no trails at all just making our own. It was a 4 day team event and i paired up with my buddy and his wife in they're FJ and i had my amazing co pilot with me again from NHOC again. It's a lot of v=navigation on paper maps and we didn't have any service up there for about 3 days straight. But we would get our routes and challenges everyday and then our location where we would end and camp every night. What a great a experience though! Exploring the beautiful deep country Maine and working together as a team. It's was a different kind of wheeling than i'm used to because it was more fast paced thru logging roads and navigating, communicating on the CB nonstop and some serious DUSTY roads so you really can't see for shit or at least the person trailing can't so since i was leading i had to be on point with what was in front and coming at us down the road. I've lived in NY all my life and have never been up to Maine and it seriously has some of the best and most beautiful landscape and scenery I've ever seen in the north east!

Any who enough about that and on to some pics!..

One awesome thing that happened on the last day when we arrived at the final summit of the challenge, there was an old American flag up there that was in very rough shape and all tattered so we decided to replace it with a brand new one that one of the other teams had with them, we later then found out that the organizers of the event had already planned on replacing the flag and that it was up there as a memorial for a young boy that died tragically while snowmobiling accident. It was a good way to end a great trip!

Looks amazing, and the event sounds like it would have been a blast. I've always wanted to go up to Maine.
Haha haha- I can't believe you went to an event without hooking up your locker. I almost feel like I need to come and do it for you. Lol. I, on the other hand, have been using the crap out of mine. I've already tried to rip off my rear bumper. The rear side is being held on with a zip tie as all of the clips busted. I've got a full set of RCI skids in the garage that I need to get prepped and installed that I ordered after the first trail ride. I love how much easier it is to ride the trails with the 4.88's and then locked it's amazing. I haven't had atrac for a couple years now so I didn't have that to help, so going from wide open to locked has been huge.

Sorry for the super late reply! Yeah the trip was really amazing though! You should definitely make the trip! It's really something special.

I know it's truly embarrassing! This summer just been so busy since even before the trip I've barely had time to do anything. The 4Runner pretty much been posing as a highway runner/kid/ grocery getter haha it hurts a little when she gets neglecting like this! This coming month though I'm going to hook it up and start getting things done and prepping for the NHOC coming up in Sept. Hopefully I'll be able to get out on the trail once or twice before then also!

Well I'm glad at least one of us is putting the locker to proper use and getting to enjoy it! Haha the damn rear bumpers on these kill our departure angle anyways. Ahh so it was definitely a huge difference for you not even having atrac in the past! Atrac is still my friend and I will alway attempt getting thru things with that before I click the locker on, you'd be surprised the stuff I've hitting thru using atrac! It is pretty awesome, but I'm excited to be able to push that magic button!... Hopefully one of these days. And the gears also have been a great, the truck just wants to climb right up everything! Pretty awesome.

The list never ends lol the sooner you just accept it the easier it is!
Yeah man i'd say a snorkel should be number one on your list right about now lol

looks like a fun time

Great time,, I can't wait until NHOC in September! Another one worth doing!

All cleaned up from after the last run. Seriously there's so much dust in Maine it got into EVERYTHING this was the longest it's ever taken me to clean the truck inside out! Probably about 3+ hours!!!

you home now?

Come to 14th Annual Toyota Takeover - Rausch Creek - PA - Tomorrow!!

I wish I could of made it! I flew down to Miami last week to surprise the wife for our anniversary! On a side note scored some serious brownie points so I'm pretty much good to go wheeling whenever I want now for at least the next year or so haha

I think we're going to try to do a VT run soon. We have all the maps from the VOT, some awesome wheeling up there.
