Well guys it's done! The 4Runner is officially sold and got picked up a few days ago and is on its way to its new owner who will be bringing it to Alaska which I think is pretty amazing and exactly what the truck is built for!! Unfortunately I wasn't there to see the truck off so I don't have any goodbye pictures. It's been a fun journey and I'm sure I'll be in another 4Runner at some point in the future.
I'd like to thank all the peeps on here who's knowledge and great write ups helped me along the way of my build! This Forum really is amazing and I've learned so much on here and wouldn't have been able to do half of the stuff on my build with out it.
I haven't really gotten a chance to play with the new rig yet as I've been to busy but it's currently under the knife already getting its rear quarters armored up because it's a big wide pig lol I have some plans for it already! Nothing crazy as all the major things are already done but to name a few ,,
Quarter armor
Roof rack
Synthetic winch line
Factor 55 flat link
Pod light for the bumper
Side and rear lights for the roof rack
Custom cargo barrier
Double swingouts tire carrier/ladder
Double din head unit
Indel B 41qt fridge
Most of which I already order or have and am waiting instal when I get the truck back before the FJNE run at the end of the month!
It's a really great solid rig though! I've only gotten to take it out once on a snow run so it wasn't really a great judge of character but it pretty much goes up and over anything I pointed it at haha So different from the 4Runner! It just feels like a older stouter truck but I love it!!!
I'll come by and check up on everyone from time to time.
Here's a pic of the new rig
It's crazy how it makes 37"s look normal.

I'm not sure if I'm suppose to click the "like" button or not.
The Lexus is sweet but I would still miss the 4Runner.
Looks pretty good Jared for a over priced Toyota. LOL.
Going to miss reading what ever else you would have done to the runner.
I almost went with on also before my runner.
Happy trails my friend.
Congratulations! Looks like a great rig. Look forward to the forthcoming updates. Or at least a link to where we can follow along

Too many damn mall crawlers and mudd puddle hitters on FB :doh:
I'n the mean time I hope you guys keep wheeling the 4th gens the way they should be! Too many damn mall crawlers and mudd puddle hitters on FB :doh:

They are the squadron pros, but I can't tell you how they look yet [emoji22] - had to take it back to get the hoops adjusted cause I couldn't shut the hood. Any time he was working on it the hood was either open or closed and he never tried to open it once he welded them on. When I tried to close it the damn grill hit on each side....SMH. So I hooked up the light bar to see what both switches did and then took it apart again so he could fix it. Never hooked the other stuff up. I got a hell of a deal on the Baja Designs stuff so it was a no brainer for me to go that route. I think I would still go with the BD over Rigid even if I didn't. Just from talking to a few of the local shops and pro teams from around here they have all switched over to BD. Anyways, now I've got to wait for him to do the rear bumper, which will have a couple squadron sports in it, before I get to get it all hooked up. And he talked me into some heavy duty sliders too since my Demello sliders are all dented up. Didn't want his nice bumpers looking all good next to some beat up old sliders. Haha.Nice man that's awesome! Armor always helps. Looks great in combination with the RCI skids.
Hey are those the new Baja design squadron pro lights? The square ones in the fog location. If so what pattern are they and how do you like them? I'm keep going back and forth between them and the new Rigid ss pods. There just so F'n expensive!!!

Damn that's a bummer man! But at least he's getting it worked out! I have a whole new respect for welding and Fab work after building my trailer and the 4x4 labs rear bumper! Now I measure 2-3 times before I start to burn stuff in but sometimes those things just happen unfortunately. That's crazy that your sliders dented up like that?! If you don't like what he comes up with check out BAMF their a solid set of sliders! I've put mine thru the ringer and they've held up great and the kick out is awesome!
Ah it's all good man I ended up grabbing a pair of the Rigid D-SS spots for now got them for a pretty good deal,, even with the discount I was getting BD they were still going to be about $350 a pair! I wanted to get two set but I just have trouble paying $700 for two sets of pod lights :wow2: The new Rigids got some good reviews and seem to have a good output. Eventually when someone has a sale id like to grab a second pair of the D-ss driving pattern (cause their a little more$$$) I learned with the 4runner that I Love having the lights when I need them but I think I went a little overkill with it,, and really only got to use them a handful of times. This time I'm going to keep it simple,,, 2 sets of pods on the front 1 spot 1 driving pattern and then I really did like the side and rear lights for camping and late night set ups but still going to keep it clean and simple (low pro) so I'm still figuring what lights I'm going to use for those when I get my prissy rack for the lexus.
Damn I really don't want to give up this build thread haha:moping:
Don't give it up.. just post a chapter break and start the build thread of the new one on here.. Everyone in this forum will appreciate it. it will keep you reminded of where you came from
He was pretty bummed about it. He's never sent out a finished product with issues like that. Good thing he's my cousin, or else.... lol.
I actually got in trouble with the wife because I didn't include the cost of winch and lights with the cost of the bumpers. Haha. Thought I was going to have to wait and save. I went to her with the original price of like $1550 for the lights and then dropped the discounted price on her and she thought it was a good deal and said yes.
I don't think I'll ever need to add any more lights with what I've got- 30" S8, the Squadron Pro's and Sports. Maybe some rock lights at some point.
I'd like to add a refrigerator and some drawers and then I think I'll be pretty good.
Don't give up your thread. I don't see any reason to.

Hey man! I just installed an addicted front bumper on my 05 and I love it so far.
Just a question since I saw you installed one on yours. Did you ever replace the bottle on the passenger side? or did it not really bother you that much? I didn't see any posts about it but I only loosely scanned over the thread.
Also, sad to see you are parting ways with the 4runner :rain: , it was an amazing build and hopefully mine can look like that one day.
I don't think I mentioned it after the last trip that on the last night while going up a trail in the dark after it started to down pour( basically a combination for a good time) a low hanging pretty big tree branch ripped off my snorkel head and mashed up pretty good. So I decided since I was going to have to order a new one anyways I would have some fun with the old one and enjoy the Halloween/Fall season!
The Pumpkin snorkel head mod!
