Interested to hear your feedback on the full poly bodymount kit. I did just the rears on my truck before I did the Eimkeith rear bumper. I do like the idea of replacing all the old tires mounts but I was a little scared of all the vibration feedback into the cab/steering wheel with the stiffer poly bodymount bushings. Also long term noise (will they end up squeaking). Please post some feedback as you get miles on the truck with them installed.

The body mounts won't change the steering feedback. They do get rid of that secondary shake/shudder from hard edge bumps on the street (where they are isolated and you can feel it, instead of offroad where it all blends together). There is a bit more 'feedback' offroad, but whether that is good or bad is probably personal preference. Good suspension and tire pressures easily make up for any extra NVH, in my opinion.

It was an easy trade-off for me - but I spend most of my time on the road...

The black Poly bushings from Energy Suspension have graphite in them which helps with noise. If torqued down properly they shouldn't make any noise since they are stationary (except for the rear mounts). A lithium grease at the top and bottom of the bushings should do the trick. After install put some miles on them then re-torque.

Mine are torqued just fine. They wouldn't put rubber bushings on there unless there was movement...

Weekend update - 247220

Busy week here, several things happened

Full length roof rack and awning
A local FB fabricator and his dad makes these in Compton, CA. He modified his design to my specs and I got exactly what I wanted. I clear the pipes in my garage with 4" to spare


Picked up an Ironman 6' awning off another FB local and mounted it up to the rack along with an LED light bar. Wiring pending.



LCA/front end complete
This was basically the entire weekend: Whiteline bushings
333 Fab cam eliminators
MStudt endlinks
Total Chaos steering rack bushings
Energy Suspension bumpstops
Energy Suspension sway bar bushings

The steering rack took the longest time/slowed me down the most. I got all the work done on Saturday and left all the torquing and tuning for Sunday. But I'm happy with how it turns out.


Once complete I had to re-align and reset toe and caster, I believe I have around 3° positive camber based on my crude measurements. Next weekend, professional alignment. She tracks straight on flat road, so that's a win.

Next weekend I'm installing a wind fairing because the new rack is LOUD - thanks to [MENTION=116387]Unner[/MENTION] for the fairing rec. I also have a fresh set of pads and rotors to throw in someday soon, too.

After the alignment my RCI skids will go on along with prep and painting of Lil Skip gas tank skid. It arrives Wednesday of this week.

I'm still waiting on a poly body mount kit and will install a 1" body left at the same time. Then I'll weld my sliders on.

Trying to get the truck ready for a wheeling trip in 3 weeks so I'm going non-stop.

Truck is looking good fast! Those CVs are interesting looking and I'm intrigued by those alignment cam eliminators also, just don't want to take everything apart...

I'm guessing the plug is for a field monitor of some sort?

The extended CVs have yet to prove selves lol, the cam eliminators are insurance

Marlin Crawler is working on a cam gusset reinforcement kit that beefs up the entire LCA mount, I might add that if I bend out the cam tabs like others have done

Thanks, brother! I put Lucas 75W-90 synthetic in there for starters. It shifts like a tractor lol need to put it in 2nd before 1st or notch it in. Guess a trans rebuild is in my future, but I love it!

Mine was having a tough time going into 1st. (Typical for a manual 4Runner when they get a little older) Someone on here recommended the RedLine MT90. I switched the fluid out & its shifts like butter. That was back in 2016. No issues since.

The redline hype on these older 5 speed Toyota transmissions is real. I remember a big difference when I switched my MK3 supra from regular fluid to redline also, so I highly recommend it as well. If I had a 5 speed 3rd gen I'd put redline in it too. Now to go find a 5 speed 3rd gen...
