2nd Gen. 1991 4Runner: Sensen 1272, Moog CC255 Coil Springs, Daystar 1.25” Spacer

I put in Sensen 1272 Struts/Shocks with Moog CC255 Rear Coil Springs and Daystar 1.25” Spacers. The car rides well and I am very satisfied! No butt sag!

I’ve seen multiple reviews which remain unchanged after a few years, likely, meaning that they remain functional even after a few years.

I don’t do hardcore off-roading so this may be a different case for others but for daily driving and rare dirt travel for camping, I think these will serve you well.

I know that the best recommendation is “Bilstein! KYB! TOKICO! OEM!” But for the price ($64.49), I am VERY satisfied. Just my 2 Cents!

I have a question. I have an 89 runner that I bought with a 2” lift with 33s. I’m wanting to put 63” Chevy springs in the rear. Will that make my rear lift higher than the front? And will I need longer shocks?

My 84 came with a 3” block lift, I’m doin the 63” rear swap as I type this. After I see how much lift that gives me in the rear I am goin to pick up trail gear springs and front hanger kit for the front with the same amount of lift to level her up. I’m doin a lot of extra’s “while I’m in there” like a rear housing truss, longfield rear axles, rancho’s to bilstiens etc. wanna be ready for this spring when the sun comes back out!

Recently upgraded to OME suspension. Previously had 1" lift blocks on the rear, TJM XGS shocks on the rear, SenSen shocks up front. Now have Nitrocharger Sport Shocks all around (ARB 60065 and ARB 60072) with Heavy Leafs (CS010R) with the third leaf removed. Running 265/75/R16 Falken Wildpeak MT01. Also just trying to get my post count up so I can create a build thread.

I have an '88 4runner with pretty much no suspension left in her. I'm really not looking for a extreme lift option, but would maybe go for a small lift if it doesn't affect the transmission negatively and doesn't involve too many adaptations (less the better). With my limited knowledge of suspension systems, I'd like to get some help knowing what parts I will have to order (I live in a very remote location so orders take a long time). Can someone who knows these trucks please help me outline what parts are involved in a front and rear suspension replacement? And whether I should go for a 1-2" lift and what might be involved in doing so? I'm perfectly satisfied with stock height, I just want to fix it so the truck isn't getting as thrashed around on uneven terrain.

I could be wrong, not real familiar with the IFS front, but couldn’t you just crank up your torsion bars and add an equal block in the rear? Maybe someone can help with this... not sure if you would need an alignment, shocks, brake lines or any of that but I think it would be good for a couple of inches?? Maybe just somethin to look into..

Its been some time and since then I let go of my 95. I just picked up this 92 I'm going with about a 2.5 inch lift. How ever I'm torn between tire sizes. Should I run a 33 or go with the 32 or stay stock with 31s ? I plan to make this truck a weekend trail rig.

Hey there, I'm trying to figure out how I want to lift the front end. I've seen mixed reviews on bj spacers but with my current setup and plans they're sounding like the best option?

87 4runner, ifs. Just got 32s. The biggest i think I'd go is 33. I'm not interested in a SAS. While it's not a daily driver, I want to be able to have a nice ride on the road. I do some off roading but its mostly light stuff- sour grass and deer valley, not the Rubicon.

I added an extra leaf and some greaseable shackles in the back. I think i just need something to get me to 2 inches in the front so I don't rub the wheels. I'm cool putting some crank on the torsion bars but I don't want them to be super stiff. I'd like to avoid cutting fenders if possible as well. I also got a bumper on the front. I'm wondering if the 1.5" bj spacers wouldn't do too much damage elsewhere, or if there's something else I should to to keep it going good? Most issues seem to be with those that did 4" lifts or higher with the spacers. I don't have a ton of money to drop on it. Here's a pic from back before I lifted the rear.

Hey guys, ive searched for a while and cant find a definitive answer, but lots of opinions.

i have a '86 4runner stock with 31/10.50r15 mud terrains and want to run the Bilstein 5100 shocks all around for the 4" lift. Currently has a small amount of rear sag - doesnt bother me

what all should i look to replace with the new shock? Is the Ball Joint spacer kit the only thing?

I believe you'll need a diff drop so you don't destroy the CVs. I'm working on putting mine in. The diff drop is a piece of cake to install.

I like 33s, I have them on mine. It's not fast, though. (Not that it is anyway)
