PBColt '99 T4R Build

Thanks for the interest guys. Got the 5100's and new end links put on. So much nicer of a ride than the struts and spacers I had on there before. Anyone who is looking for an alternative to an OME kit or Coilovers, the 5100/Tundra is an excellent and cost effective option.

As for other updates, nothing really. Downgraded (I know right) my rims. Took off the 5 stars and had every intention of refinishing them, but saving for a trip to Europe with my girlfriend after I graduate in June has got in the way

On a semi-side note, I was going to get a new truck (2009-10 Tacoma Double Cab Long Bed) when I start my job in August, but I think I have decided to keep my Runner 'till it dies. So come August I'll be getting: 265/75/16 Geolander AT/S's, sliders, and Wet Okole's.

I'm glad you still like the TRD coils.

I too liked the Graphite wheels. I have seriously thought about doing mine. Too much time in the rocks getting rock rash for me. On the other hand, graphite wouldn't show the rock rash too bad. What exactly was the pain that you used?

Hey Gerdo,
I used duplicolor self-etching primer, duplicolor graphite wheel paint and duplicolor clearcoat. All you guys are making me hate my wheels haha.
 
I did mine with the same products, they're holding up well.

I prepped the sh*t out of them though. Used a wire wheel on my drill, sand paper and a red scuff pad to strip them. Degreased them real well and then did a good wipe down with prepsol before anything went down. I'm very happy with the finish.

Where did you get your new lift? Do you have a part number? I was thinking of doing the same thing to mine but don't know where to start on the lift. Bill steins are awesome!

Got the bilsteins, OME rear shocks and springs from Toytec. Front springs from a fellow member.
 
I had been searching for a 4x4 4runner for a few weeks and ended up finding one I liked down in Houston on Craigslist. I was searching the T4R forums to try to figure out the lift that was installed by the PO and gearing up for some of the maintenance items that it needed. Come to find out, my nicely used 4R has matching license plates as this one :thumb3:

Here she is with just under 168k the night i bought it.

I'd say you got yourself a pretty sweet ride there.
 
I have been handling some of the minor maintenance issues. Tires were checker-boarding along the inside edges so hopefully an alignment will take care of that. Changed the oil and checked the transmission and rear differential. Cleaned the Mass Air sensor and changed the Air filter. I was going to change plugs but once I pulled the old ones they were near perfect so I threw them back in. There was an oil leak on the back side of the drivers side valve cover so that was my project this weekend.

Thanks PB!! It does look like it's been taken care of. Hopefully I can continue your build where you left off. I already hit up some of the local trails to see how the 4x4 worked. The 4R is a beast with just a lift...I will have a difficult time figuring out what to upgrade other than larger tires.
