Happy to say that we will be joining the Pelfreybilt family. Took advantage of the November sale and purchased a front bumper and winch.:banana:
Soo...... how's that steel bumper coming along? Still see an option for only the aluminum version.
Will this fit 2010-2013 T4R if lights and grill were modified?

Yep, totally would. If you replace the lights and that plastic trim piece between the lights you're good to go.
Steel version is starting to ship. I opted to stay with aluminum.
When did they start taking orders? I don't see any posts made by them or their website listing the steel version of the bumper.
What made you decide to change your mind and keep the aluminum bumper?

I believe on their old site you could pre-order or sign up for a waiting list. Looks like it's not there on their new site.
I opted for aluminum due to weight savings and function. The harshest I'll ever intensionally run the truck is at Moab every June. Outside of that it's intended as an overland-style build, which means a lot of road travel and car camping. I looked at how Sean Jennings' (Defconbrix) and Tyler Pelfrey's Tacos have held up, and as stated by the post previous, outside of some knicks and scrapes, they held up great. Plus up here in the PNW rust is a big issue. My CBI rear is a lovely bumper, but you really have to stay on top of scratches with touchup. The Pelfrey being aluminum is immune to that.
I think after Moab I was of the mindset that steel was better, heavier, thicker, etc etc. But I don't feel that way now that I've had 5-6 months of use and talking with people more experienced than I.
I think it comes down to use case. I think the steel version is great if you really really want steel and actively plan to smash stuff.
The aluminum is better all around for the needs of the vast majority of us especially for if we treat our rigs as a hybrid of daily driver and adventure mobile.
I've been running an RCI steel skid for my fuel tank and now I'm even sorta re-thinking if I want to maybe to to aluminum so shave 30lbs off the truck (I probably won't because the fuel tank is such a precarious component on the 5th gen). But I'm open to suggestions.
It's cool to hear you rethought the change. I'm going aluminum as much as I can in order to keep the pounds off, but have worried about what the trade-offs are. An aluminum bumper alone saves more than all the aluminum skids I just added, which probably turned out to be a weight reduction after removing the mud-filled OEM skids. I'm curious what the net change of an aluminum bumper is after accounting for the removed bits, sans winch of course.
Can anyone confirm if an LED bar can be installed/removed with bumper on vehicle? I assume so with access through engine bay. I have emailed Pelfrey but haven't heard back and I am ready to pull the trigger on this.

I am very interested in this comment. I know you know your stuff, but have you seen this done with the aluminum pelfreybilt bumper? Is there a thread on it? If there isn't, but we can confirm it can be done, I would be happy to give it a shot...

Replace three parts. It's not rocket surgery. Install bumper. Done.
Yeah. Didn't think it would be hard. Just wondering if you had actually seen a 2010-2013 4runner with it done. Hate to buy an 85lb, $2k aluminum paperweight that won't fit on the end of my truck because of another small configuration mismatch.thanks.
