Any one running the aluminum with 650lb coils? About to order one but didn't know if I need to upgrade my icon 650's to the 700's.

I am running 650's on my Kings and have a VR10,000S in the bumper. you will be fine with what you have. the 650's were good enough with my shrockworks bumper and same winch and it was well over 100lbs heavier.

Yep, you should be fine with 650#. If anything I'd swap with a 14" coil if you feel you have to crank the coils way up to get lift. IIRC the Icons ship with 13" coils so you have to preload them a bit more than usual.

FWIW I'm running 700# coils with a full steel plate bumper, full steel skids, and a winch. I can't get compress the coils to get less than 2 3/4" lift up front even with the weight I'm running. I'm literally at the minumum height adjustment on my coilover. With your weight with the aluminum Pelfrey bumper you'll easily end up with 3"+ lift and have no way of lowering if you are maxed out like I am. The only reason I haven't swapped is because I'm not running a front swaybar, otherwise I'd swap to 650#.

Went ahead and ordered some 14" King 650lb. Figured might as well knock it all out while its at the shop. Will be harder to explain to the old lady having to explain two trips and two pmts!

I'm also running the 650 lb coils with the Pelfrey bumper and winch. Had to preload the coil just a little more but nothing crazy. The ride is perfect in my opinion.

FWIW, on my 4th gen I'm running a full steel bumper with steel cable Warn M8000 but I have 700 lb coils on Bilstein 6112's and honestly, it feels a tad over-sprung. The 600 lb coils were just a tad soft so I guess 650 would be just right. I talked to the Bilstein guys at the Overland Expo and they felt 700 lb coils were overkill for our rigs. They stated that even with a bumper and winch, 600 lb coils should work, 650 at the max.

Just ordered mine a few days ago, glad to hear 650lb springs work well. How much adjustability is there in the bumper? Enough to run a 1/2" body lift without it looking goofy?

Also for those that picked it up from a freight hub, were you able to fit the bumper in the back of the 4Runner or did you use a truck? Thanks

After installing the bumper, I did not like how the washer bottle was exposed. I know it can be relocated, but I did not want to go through the hassle and cost of the kit and I do not plan on going rock crawling. I just wanted some protection from normal road and some trail use. So I fabbed up a cover from 1/8" steel plate using two existing bolts for mounting and painted with Rustoleum bedliner. I trimmed the inner fender liner to fit around and "inside" the cover.

I too hate the look of the exposed tank and worry about cracking it. How much would you charge for a tank shield?

If you unbox it then it'll fit. For myself, I ended up renting a uhaul trailer.

There should be enough adjustment for a 1/2" body lift.

It's not on display, and hasn't been built. I'll be running it at some point, and it was supposed to be on my truck for testing in Baja but the FJC bumpers took priority.
