Plasti-Dip? De-badge? OR???

OK so i have a pretty straight forward question for you guys. I absolutely HATE any little bit of chrome, so i'm looking to do something with my emblems and grill. (2000 Limited) I just plasti-dipped my wheels and have about a can and a half left so I could 1: plasti-dip them, 2: Just debadge the truck, or 3: ??? (other suggestions)

Debadge is the way to go for me.... Cleaner look and much easier to wax...:thumb:

Thanks for the idea! I ended up going with this idea and it turned out to be exactly what i wanted.

Looks good, Thats exactly what I'm going to do as soon as the weather warms up here. How did you go about removing the Toyota badge?

It can be a pain sometimes and I ended up breaking it accidentally, but just take some floss and run it underneath the emblem pulling the ends back and forth, to act as a mini saw in a sense. Then when you get the emblem off just pick the leftover adhesive bits off and clean up the area with some adhesive remover (it may take some solidelbow grease). And then you're done!

also a heat gun can make things alot easier when you use the Floss Saw method

I always thought the floss broke too easily. I switched to fishing line and it works much better.

If the tint wasn't so dark, I would have suggested trying Plasti Dip Smoke on the badges to give them a slightly subdued look.

Sad part is that's actually just the factory tint. After i went "Dip Crazy" (emblems tails grill wheels) i pulled it off the emblem on the grill and itwas too chrome for me so i went and did just one layer of dip and it dulled the chrome perfectly!

We love the 4th gen 4Runner we just picked up...except for the fact it has gold emblems. Thanks to the wonderful write ups and links to that Lexus forum post also. Did five emblems yesterday and the remaining two this afternoon.

Well, coming from someone who has done them both, I will say that ultimately it is up to you. I like both looks, however, when I saw my buddy's T4R that was debadged, I just had to do mine as well. So do what's gonna make it look the best to you.

I'm staying stock. After everyone else mods the hell out of and plastidips every last inch of their rigs, mine will be unique

Looks good. Plastidip is awesome stuff. Did some wheels for my BMW with it because I was on the fence about the color. Turned out great and still looks good after a year.

PD the back letters and front/rear emblems. Kind of scary taking a spray bomb to a new vehicle, but everything turned out great!

Evidently I already voted in this poll... but I definitely don't remember doing so. So it must have been quite some time ago. However, I have mine debadged, and knowing what I know now, I would have never done it. I wish I would have just left them as they were. I really appreciate the all OEM look for the most part.

I like the clean look, but I also like the emblems. Sad the 2015 T4R TE didn't have emblems on the post so I gotta work with what I got.
