Possible rebate on 2014 4Runners

Hey bruindave- I don't know how much better and I'm not sure that they do either really. All i know is that two dealers told me about the rebates before they were official and they turned out to be correct. I'm in the process of ordering a trail so they know that they are not going to get me to buy today. And i would say that most dealers can be pretty pushy and borderline dishonest etc. but that some are also pretty honest and decent too. Maybe i got lucky and found the latter...

It's just dealer talk. The reason there are only a few 4R avail is because demand is low so the dealer will make it sound rare. Yet when they have a lot of a particular model it means that it is more popular but the dealer will spin it as the demand is very high so they'll sell out fast. The dealer is selling commodity, and they all have their own respective pricing policy.

How much better can the incentive get? Is it worth another $500 to wait and see, and be without the 4r, and go through the entire process again, and letting this linger in your head when you can do something more fun than thinking about this?

yea you're both right. i just like to get the best deals... i'm just going to stick to what i got and just keep the deal offered to me. Trying to get the color trail premium i wanted was a pain in the backside... i only got lucky that the dealer i was working with ended up ordering the exact one i wanted with the right options.

bruindave, see my post on the 1st page of this thread. if the particular vehicle the dealer has located for you has one of those discount option codes on the invoice, then the discount is already in the MSRP and invoice for that vehicle. if that option code is not on the invoice, you are out of luck and you can only get the rebate (or financing).

I'm not very savvy with leases but how does that lease special look to you guys? I would most likely buy it out at the end so I'm just trying to not have a $500+ per month truck payment.'

Thanks,
Ron

You can almost never get special financing along with a cash back rebate. It's almost always one or the other (or they combine special financing with a reduced rebate).

But, you can get the discount along with the rebate (or financing). As far as the discount goes, I doubt they would discount the MSRP and not discount the invoice at all. Dealerships would be bullshit.

I was able to get the 0% APR for 36 months and the $750 rebate...

If you're planning to buy it out at the end, why not figure out a way to finance it? You almost always come out ahead financing vs leasing + buy out. Easy way to drop that financing payment down to something more manageable is to save up a little bit longer and put down a larger down payment :)

Rebate, discount, incentive, deal, special, or whatever you want to call it, I gotta give props to my dealer. Have been waiting for my special ordered T4R Trail Prem to come in. It hit their lot yesterday and they will be delivering it to me tomorrow (I live almost 2 hours away). A selling price had already been determined weeks ago when we ordered it but today they tell me "oh, by the way, there is an added incentive from Toyota so that price is gonna be several hundred less"! That's like free sliders after the fact!!

FYI, you can also get a $500 cash back in lieu of 0% which imho, is a much better deal given that the most you can earn on your savings is <1%. Of course if you're an astute investor you can make much more. :thumb3:
Also, I was told that it's only good this month.
