I've noticed very few people in this thread run the 255/80/17 tires. I'm interested in this size cause I kinda like my factory sr5 wheels on my 2014. And I like the tall skinny look. I'm lifted 3 inches but I don't have upper control arms either. Isn't this size less likely to rub on body mount? I'm sure there will be some trimming on the fender wells though. Anyone have any advice?

All I can tell you is that if you've got your 5th Gen set up to run 285/70/17 without rubbing like I do, you will be able to run the 255/80/17 without rubbing as well. The 255 is a 10"x33.3" diameter tire(at least according to the spec sheet). When compared side by side on a similar rim, I have trouble spotting the difference in overall diameter between them and my 285/70/17 which are a 32.9" x 11.5" tire.
I would imagine one of the main reasons that not so many people run the 255's, is that they are somewhat of an oddball size and not always easy to find like a 285.
I have aftermarket UCA's installed and dialed in to ~4*, and have done the front fender liner mod and body mount chop. Without doing these three things there really is no way to prevent rubbing after installing a 33" tire.

Hi all, wanted my first post to be my lifted pic. But some of the more resent posts here have me doubting my research. I have King suspension, TC uca's and Konig Countersteer's waiting to go on. Kings to be set at 2". Was planning on 285/70/17 dura tracs. My understanding was that the wheel well mod was all I would need to do. Am I mistaken?

With 4* caster that's all it should be.

I remember reading a post by [MENTION=98089]c2one[/MENTION], when I was looking at this setup last year. I think he did not recommend them (don't quote me), or maybe he was happy with them for what they were. I do remember him suggesting to just go Bilsteins.

You are right, I do not recommend putting on a 3" spacer on the front. Going over speed-bumps feels like my shocks are fully extended and makes a loud 'bottoming-out' noise. Plus no help at all with the nose dive.

Save up a little more and get Bilsteins.

Nothing wrong or bad to say about Revtek... just having a 3" spacer on the front, in my opinion, isn't good.

So now I am saving up for a different lift and new UCAs.

I am not a fan of the 5th generation at all, until you put some suspension on there and upgrade the tires. It really changes the look so much and then I just drool... I wanted to pickup a brand new 2013 trail edition but had to settle for a 2008 Sport Edition 4WD with the V8. Love it, especially the V8 but man when I see the lifted 5th generation, especially the trail edition I just love them. Good looking trucks on this thread...

How do you like the Boss suspension overall? Any feedback would help since this is first on my lift list. Seems like a great value and performer.
