Price on 2012 TE

Great timing on this thread -

I too hope I got a good deal on my '12 4R TE. I am picking up my black 2012 TE, w/Nav/KDSS, remote start and dealer installed heated seats this up coming weekend.

Out the door I am paying $39,450. Only thing missing is paying my Summit County, UT taxes once I register back home.

All and all I feel good about what I agreed to pay and the sales process with the dealer, so I guess it doesn't really matter in the end, but always curious where I fall on the bell curve.

Really? I paid slightly more for one with KDSS. Again, you can get a trail for $37,768 with KDSS2012 Toyota 4Runner Trail in Laurel, MD- 8262640 at carmax.com

But that is USED.

I completely understand! Although with a trade-in and a little down it seems worth it... Better yet, once my wife was on board, it made the decision much easer! We were originally going to buy an FJ; however, the back seat was just too small for our 5'8" 12y/o daughter. Additionally, we travel all over New England and the east coat for AAU basketball. In the end, the 4R was the better option....

How does the dealer install heated seats on a cloth seat? I'm interested in this? Does the switch go in the factory location?

My 2012 TE is equipped exactly like yours and my price was $39,050 without taxes..... you got a good deal. Mine comes in this weekend as well - I'm pumped.

Same story here, like the FJ but the rear seat is not so kid-friendly, I just bought the 12 Limited Edition.

RE: Heaters - the dealer outsourced the work to a local company. The reason I was keen on getting this done off the lot was the work and material is covered under the 35K/dealer warranty.

No reason why cloth should be different than leather heaters...my WRX has heaters in cloth and they are great in the winter and after ski/boarding for a sore back :boxer:

As for the product, I confirmed that the switch banks for both seats go into the factory location. Unlike the rolling dial of the limited's OEM, they use a three way switch (Hi/low/off).

According to my former Toyota dealer in Bellevue, WA, they outsource them. That's what the salesperson told me when I asked about having them added to my 2006 Tundra SR5. He told me to save my money, then told me exactly what kind to get. So I got 'em off ebay for about $150, then did the bulk of the install myself.

It takes awhile because you need to remove the seats, but it's not hard (I am not all that mechanically-inclined - if I can do it, anyone can).

The part I couldn't do was wiring them up, so I paid the dealer $50 to do it for me.

Paid $36K even for a 2011 4R Trail w/KDSS, Running Boards and extended warranty. Built in 6/11 and was transported from TN up north here so it had 560 miles on her.

Sticker was $39K and change.
They (dealership) wanted the truck sold and being that I'd bought 3 other Toyota's from the same place, same salesman, he knows I don't put up with their games.

Can you get the 3rd seat on the Trail? I like that model but need the 3rd. If anyone sees one on the east coast in the Gray color let me know.
