Question to all 5th gen owners

I bought a mag gry SR5 4x4. Of course would have loved to had the TE but this is a good comprimise between a daily driver and hitting the trails from time to time as well as price difference. Plus I figure the stuff I did not get in a TE I could always get a later date for my SR5 like a rear locker.

NashMan, please tell me more. Everytime the wife drives the 4runner it takes me a week to get my seat back to where I feel right. The mirrors are the same story!

I know your pain. The mirrors aren't as easy. The previous 4runner had the memory function built into the switch.....see the thread I commented on. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/49743-seat-memory-can-i-have-them.html The hard part is getting my hand on a switch so I can either reverse engineer it(??I'm hoping I can??) or working on another solution. First step is to get the switch.

TE in white would be the only thing I would have changed if it was a choice.

Have a TE , wished it had factory sat nav (for the larger rear view camera display rather than the mirror) but it's not offered in my region when I bought it a few weeks ago.

Wife wanted the features of the Limited without all the East LA 50's style plastic chrome they littered it with.

Being a surfer & hunter the TE met my needs for the most part.

TE is missing a few little amenities. Annoyed that there's no HID and dual climate control. Wish I had smart key system, would definitely have ponied up some $$ for that option. All that being said, every time I look at my silver TE, I start to smile. Absolutely no regrets... well, except maybe I should have gotten 285 instead of 265 on my tires.

compared to my FJ Cruiser, definite upgrade in creature comforts...tempting to trade

i have a TE, wish i sprung for the KDSS, but getting used to driving to overcome the body roll. i don't even off-road anymore. i used to go all the time when i had Jeeps. but, i just liked the styling of the TE exterior. it just looks like what a 4Runner should look like, IMO.

-automatic headlights
Those two omissions are the most offensive. Also:
-keyless ignition
-dual climate

Two of my previous cars, 98 lumina ltz, 01 Monte Carlo ss had all that stuff except for ignition and cost 10 grand less. Pretty ridiculous.

Clearly Toyota is trying to force people to limited which wasn't worth extra 4000 more.

I got a '10 4WD Limited and couldn't be happier.

Maybe if I would change anything, I'd have gone with Shoreline Blue, but there weren't any available around here when I bought mine (Dec '09), and I'm happy enough with the silver.

That's strange, Canadian version has 2 trip odometers in SR5. If odometer display doesn't change when you push the button might be button is not working? Does it show average fuel consumption in the odometer display?

On my 4Runner, there is a small "push peg button" directly to the right of my digital odometer. When you press it, it cycles thru various things such as TRIP A, TRIP B, MPG, ECO (ON/OFF) and so forth. If you press it it should switch around.

You have a limited. I have the sr5. There's no peg (like cars 10 years old 10 grand less do have).

I have a TE and while I love it, I do wish it included some of the things that the Limited comes with, such as the Torsen Center Diff and the Dual Climate Control.

However, since having this center lockable diff option does not allow us to drive around in 2wd, I would probably still pass on it.

Other than that I'm perfectly happy with my 2010 4Runner Trail Edition, I need the locker more than I need the Full time 4x4, although an ARB Air Locker can always be added later, I prefer the stock Electric one. Just personal preference.

I apologize everyone. I found the peg this evening. In my defense, the steering wheel was in my line of sight and the peg is in black abyss. Regardless, sorry for bad info.
