Here’s how I did the 3rd gen... might want to double check the diff nipple fits.

Routed up to the drivers taillight cavity

Fuel hose w/ clamps: $15

Looking at options for a diff breather. I see that ToyTec offers a kit for $32 and the ARB one is double in price. Are there any other budget friendly options? I don’t plan on submerging the rear diff. This is more for piece of mind.

You could search for the individual parts that make up the Toytec kit to see if piecing it together yourself is cheaper than buying that kit.

I liked the idea that yall did of running it up the gas filler line and keeping it behind the rear wheel well, planning on doing it to mine this weekend. Sounds pretty self-explanatory, but I wanted to check and see if anyone had a good picture of that before I go ahead with it just in case.

I went up behind the fuel fill line and zip-tied the new breather line up there, but didn't take any photos. It's pretty straight forward once you get under there and look around -there's really no need for photos.

One thing I did end up doing was popping the rivets out in the wheel well off so those needed to be replaced when I was done - pulling that mud guard back really made getting things situated behind the fill tube easier. Local ACE hardware store had the replacement rivets for $.50ea. the entire project cost less than $10. (not counting chilled beverages consumed during the event)

this will work, no disadvantages. some people even just run it into the cabin near the jack (downside of this is potential odors)

I ended up just doing some 3m tape and a single screw to the passenger side fender in an already present hole. Worked out fine. Clean.

I should have picked a more traditional location along the sidewalls instead of the back of the firewall, but in the end, it works all the same. Just wasted time fishing the module out of the engine bay because of the weird angle I chose to install it on...

When inserting the hose into he shark bite valves is there always a loud audible "pop"? I had clean cuts when I trimmed my hose and went straight in, I did hear a loud pop but it felt like it grabbed, and it didn't come out.

I’m trying to figure out if this ARB kit covers all the breathers the FJ has. Since I have a 4Runner now figured this has been covered. I just want to make sure if one kit covers all breathers or I need more than one.

Threw mine in the wheel well. Was able to bolt it to an existing bracket.
