Removed running boards - sand gets everywhere!

Hi guys, I am looking for suggestions to stop the mess flying around when I blast it up the beach - I have no running boards, and I really don't want to put them back on, but there is a real mess everywhere when I drive on the sand/mud.

Ideas so far:
Extended flares (I already have the factory flares, I was hoping I could find extensions).
Large mudflaps - maybe even something that sticks out a bit - I've seen a few mudflap mods but I was thinking something more like the big rubber truck ones that get close to the ground).
Finding and blocking entry points - e.g. edges of plastic mouldings under guards.
Turn the factory running boards into something a bit better looking that will deflect some of the debris.

The fine sand is getting in under the plastic mouldings, up into the rear door mouldings etc. - it goes everywhere and rust is a big issue here in NZ!

Get rally like bid mud flaps (but be aware when you back up) Sometimes the flap can get caught between the tire and a rock/object and can be ripped off from the mounting bolts .
Are your wheels sticking out than the body?

No the factory flares cover em up, although I was thinking about getting 'bolt on' extended flares if I could find em.

The moment I removed the running boards and put on sliders, the paint on the side of my truck started getting hammered. My solution was to weld inserts in the voids of the sliders, which solved the problem.

Not sure if sliders are on your list, but if they are, this will fix it.

That looks awesome! Did you fabricate those sliders? I was thinking about modifying the original running boards to be more 'slidery'.

Thanks. The sliders are from Stubbs welding and the inserts I just cut to fit and tacked them into place.
