Got an update, I've been following this...hope you have some good news.
I had the rumble strip issue, had the dealership do a full flush and fill and had them add the SF, it's been a while and still running strong. Nearly had me sh$t my pants when it first started, even got to the point where I was gonna sell it.

The rumble issue started again a few days after the dealer visit. I ended up putting SF and it has not happened since. I'm gonna do a fluid drain/fill by the end of the year because I have a road trip in December and I'm getting close to 100k miles. I'm glad everything worked out for you.
Just wanted throw my hat in the "shudder fixx fixed the issue" group. Really glad I came across this thread. Took about 40 miles of driving for it to fully take effect, but can't beat the results for $6.
How has everyone's truck held up after using it? Is this something I will continually have to use?

I'm still shudder free. Loving it. Great question. I plan on changing my ATF again in about 50K miles. I do plan on adding a tube just to be safe. I can't imagine hurting the tranny doing so. Can anyone chime in on this?
I guess you could, but why not change (or least a drain and fill) the ATF. This tranny isn't known to blow up after a fluid change.

I've had 2 3rd gens, never had the shudder problem.
Drawbacks? None that I can tell. From my experience, it fixes the problem permanently.

Is there a drain hole or do you have to drop the pan?
236,000 and having this issue and some harsh shifting. I plan on having a drain and fill done (unfortunate part of living with a gravel driveway and a well pump head right next to it,) but once that's done I'd like to add shudder fixx - are people adding it through the fill plug hole or another way?

Like I mentioned before, there is a drain hole, but you can drop the pan. Not 100% sure, but dropping the pan will involve removing something else. I'll check back. If you drop the pan (and go through all the trouble, you can replace the "filter" (metal strainer). Also dropping the pan you can get more ATF out. Most use the drain hole.

Even if you do it through the lines, the amount of the antishudder is very small. I would think the only way is through the fill hole.
If only draining, I thought I saw 2-3 quarts. If you use the "line method", expect more (12 quarts). See pic:

Can't it just be added from the top, where you check the fluid level? (2003 SR5)
