Satoshi Mod...Modded

Ok, so I'm seriously considering doing this mod, it's just that I'm really lazy...

I think the Satoshi mod makes the truck look a lot nicer, but I want to make it my own.

So I plan on adding this little 4inch wise guy, Yoda...

to get this (it's photoshopped)...

The problem with this "Yoda" is that he doesn't really look like Yoda, and I tried looking for a small Yoda that looks like Yoda, not really coming up with anything...That's part of the reason why I'm putting this mod off...mostly because I'm lazy though.

And yes I know, it spells TOYYODA, but it's better than TO (people will probably pronounce it like the number "2") YODA.

Opinions? Feel free to hate it, I know not everyone, if any, will like it. I like it though

Oh and are you running a lift with the shrockworks bumper?

No lift now, but it's on my list when something needs to be replaced due to the SW bumper (shocks, suspension, etc). The stuffed animals make it look lifted, they're my spotters.

but how much did that bumper cause your front end to sag? If any?

If possible could you post up or pm me a side angle shot of your rig?

No worries man. After 2 days with the bumper, I measured the sag to be 1/2". I never measured it again, I should have measured the sag before and after I got some Duratracs 285/70/17 D rated. But I didn't :redbrick:

I'll measure it again from the top of the wheel well to the ground and if someone else wants to chime in what their stock measurements are, maybe that'll do for you? Or do you want me to measure it some other way?

I'll also take a side picture of the truck tomorrow, how far back do you want me to stand? You can definitely tell it's not lifted when you see the side view.

You would be surprised by how many smiles I get from people. It feels good that I'm able to put a smile on their faces, simply from a doll (2 actually)

I have a vinyle di-cutter and a 32" HD vinyl printer, if there is interest I could print these up in any size or color, as long as Okki doesn't mind me using his art.
For that matter I can print/cut any decal anyone here needs. We have the equipment for making decal kits on our shiftercarts but would be happy to push out work for forum members. No minimum number, though we prefer not to do just 1 it typically wastes a lot of material.

Wish I could take credit for the artwork, but that was just a google search away.. I saw a decal of it in Ouray at the FJ Summit.

There are some better (larger files) to be found as well.

My suggestion was to 3D model the artwork so it could be printed or machined out of plastic or metal to be used in the Satoshi mod like the satoshi emblem. you could then also paint the letters to be whatever color you want. a sticker is not very usable on the front grille.

Well, I ordered everything for the mod, but don't really know where to find the 3M industrial double sided tape? I just checked Walmart, going to check Home Depot, Menards, Lowes, and some local auto shops Tuesday.

I didn't really like the Yoda plush, so I looked a little harder and found this!

I'm going to stop by Barne's and Noble Tuesday, but the dimensions look promising, 5x4"

Now, I'm leaning towards cutting off the base and just use Yoda, but "YODA' MAN" is very cool

I will probably cut it in the back to make it flush with the new grill, like so

Then depending on how the thing is made, if it's hollow I will probably drill two holes, like so

and then use these toggle bolts with a couple of washers and bolts to keep them in place

If it isn't hollow, then I will drill on the sides and use zip ties

I really want to avoid drilling on the sides and using zip ties, it won't look "clean" and professional Any suggestions?

Got the grill ready to go, will probably try to install it tomorrow or this weekend.

Since I never saw a picture of the back of the TOYOTA emblem, I took one for those who were wondering what it looks like back there

I chopped off the stubs on the back and I used the 3M outdoor mounting tape and trimmed it to match the emblem on the back (thanks for the idea Andrew (Adio3x))

Then I got this guy and sliced him from the base

And then made an opening on the bottom, he was hollow inside, thankfully because that made this mod a lot easier!

I ended up just using two #10 bolts, with some washers and lock nuts, I had to keep a little space between Yoda and the grill so his head would still bobble. Here's the link to his head bobbling
