Saw these on eBay 4 1.25" Wheel Spacers for $120

i think it was suppose to be the opposite. maybe he meant to say 120lbs for nuts on spacer, and 85lbs for lug nuts on wheels?

Curious why you would run the torque up to 120#?

So I torqued the wheel spacers to 90ft/lbs. with loctite. The torque specs it comes with are supposed to be on a dry lug, adding loctite actually makes the torque rating lower. Reason I did loctite and 90ft/lbs. is because that's what most of the Taco forums said so I went with it.

Then I followed the torque specs the spacers came with for the wheels. Which was 120ft/lbs. per the wheels. Now I'm kinda curious what everyone else's torque specs were for them haha

did you have to grind or chop off the OEM lug bolts when using spacers? saying that anything 1.25" or smaller might need to cut it off.

Nooooooooo. Definetly don't need to do anything to the factory lugs besides lubing them up with some loctite and torqueing (twerking?) them down.

I just read those instructions through...your right 120#! I would not have expected that.

has anyone ran these on the 4th gen? wanted to buy these but i do not want to grind or cut my oem lug bolts. not sure if the 1.25" will be big enough to cover the whole stock lug nuts. anyone?

They should fit just fine...same lug pattern and thread.

Maybe a mod should move this thread to the suspension forum since its becoming more of a technical instead of a classified ad

I sent the seller a message asking when the 1.25" spacers will be back in stock, his response was
We should have it back in stock in about two weeks hopefully earlier, but two weeks max.

There is no cutting or grinding. Simple bolt on and done.

I didn't follow any tq specs. Just tightened as much as I can as I always do when putting wheels back on.

I did have to ziptie my fender liners forward though to stop rubbing on the inside.

I'd say I have over 1000 miles on them now, no problems

Here are a few instal photos...

From the photos it looks like the nuts might not have enough thread engagement (nuts on OG studs holding spacers on). Can either of you comment on nut/thread engagement?

From what Ive gathered they are extended nuts, unlike spider tracks that set in further due to being shorter nuts.

The instructions state as long as there are 5-7 turns on them they are good, which I got. I also used lock-tight. I do think I'll put rear length studs on there in the future just for the added threads, but as of about 200-300 miles they are good to go.

Excellent -- I figured someone was up when folks in other threads were raising alarms about lack of thread engagement. Didn't make sense that they'd sell a product that was so poorly designed. Thanks for the clarification. I'll be using some blue lock tight and slapping these on in the next couple weeks. Looking forward to it.

Just for added reassurance. Here is a photo of installed spidertrax. You can see that the nuts are shorter, but if you compare the depth of the face of the nut with the depth of the threads showing on the eBay ones it looks really close to the same.

Ill be pulling my front wheels soon to verify torque, so Ill take some better measurements and pull one nut to verify the exact number of turns I got on them.

any updates?

How are they holding up?

Mine are holding up fine. Checked the torques after about 300 miles and everything is still solid. I had had a bit of a steering wheel shake at ~65mph. but the tire balance took care of that, and it was present before the install. Now it's butter!

Are the wheel studs on the spacers shorter than the stock ones?

The stock studs are the issue wit using the spacers in my opinion. Only a few threads get used. But the spacer studs are perfect length.

After reading through all the comments I guess it shouldnt be an issue with using them
