Securing/Locking Center Caps?

Hi,

I have the joy of parking my '10 limited on the street. Noticed this AM that all four of the center caps have vanished. Couple questions and a comment:

1. Now that I need to buy new center caps, is there a model/type that are "theft resistant" in some way? Or should I just go OEM and hope?

2. Stupid question, but how real is the threat of a theif taking the next step and stealing the rims? I know there are wheel locks, but regardless...

3. Can any of the experts out there recommend a good place to buy the replacement center caps?

I used the search function, 10 pages of results to no avail - lots of 3rd gen center cap replacers out there though, so that's good to know.

Anyway, THANKS in advance for any help.

Unfortunately I think you'll have to go to the stealership. As for locking caps I doubt it but you can ask.

You may try a couple of the dealers that sell online, might get a better price.

Toyota of Dallas
Toyota part

While i don't have them wheel locks are fairly cheap piece of mind, up to you.

Really sucks that some $hitbag stole your stuff , hopefully one set was enough for him

That really sucks, Im sorry. Whats the point of stealing them? I can imagine you can just throw them on any ol wheel out there and good to go.

A tire technician broke one of the centre caps on my TE, and it cost his company over $70 to replace it up here in Canada. As well as being prone to theft, the stock caps are flimsy and could easily be broken by just about any impact.

Hope you find sturdier replacements at a reasonable price.
