Suspension mods while 4Runner still under CPO warranty?

I bought a 2008 SR5 4x4 as a Certified Pre Owned vehicle from a dealer. I would like to get new Bilstein 5100 shocks installed all around.

Has anyone done any mods while your factory or certified warranty was still effective? Did you try to have any warranty repairs done (suspension or otherwise) and have any problems because of the mods?

I'm just looking for some feedback before I decide to move forward on this. If I have to wait for the warranty to run out before I do anything, so be it.

Modifications can void the warranty only if the mod is what caused the failure. For instance the dealer can't decline a warranty engine repair because of aftermarket struts... unless the strut breaks and goes thru the block..
