Finish my cooler install today. I used all existing holes for mounting. I decided not to install hose couplers and instead removed the factory hoses and connected the supplied hose that came with the Tru-cool kit. Turned out the hose supplied was the exact amount when I employed some fancy routing.

It's difficult to see from the picture but the bend radius on the
lower hose looks too small to me.

The Tru-cool supplied hose is pretty stout and not easy to bend. I think I would have noticed if I kinked it on the bottom. I'm doing an oil change on her this morning. I'll give the hoses another look see before I put the skid plate back on.

I think I did end up with the inlet on top. I really was more concerned with hose routing. The stock hoses were very wimpy and felt like they might blow. I'm glad I removed them.

To BTO:
You don't have to remove a front bumper to install the cooler. Do you?
How the cooler working so far? I am waiting for warm weather to install mine.

I didn't remove my bumper, but I did pop out the grille (as did BTO).

Yeah, no need to remove the front bumper. I just removed the grill and dropped the skid plate.

I did the same as the rest. I popped off the grill and unbolted the skid plate. Took me a while to figure out how to get the grill off. I had to press in on the top and bottom of each retainer to get them to release. The skid plate had one bolt that refused to budge. I ended up using a six point 12 mm socket with my floor jack bracing it up and actually lifting the front up some. It worked!

The cooler seems to work fine. I checked the bend radius of the lower hose and it seems ok at about 3 inches. The top hose is hot, the cooler is warm and the return line is luke warm. I don't have any other way to check it.

There's a trick I learned to get the grille fasteners off very easily! There is a little "tongue" sticking out the very middle of each fastener (jutting forward). Take a flat screwdriver and jently push those tongues down. The fasteners easily unclip and pull away from the sockets they're in. You also have to continue to pull the grille off as you go, or they will snap back into place.

I thought I would throw this in also. I plan to install a cooler and a filter. Cheap and easy to install, two things I like!

Installed mine last weekend. I actually bought the filter through Amazon since I got the cooler and other things through them.

The "filter" that's inside the transimission pan is nothing but a screen. It will keep large chunks out but not any dirt or small metal particles. The inline filter I installed or a spin on filter will actually filter the fluid of harmful particles. Check out this article which brought the inline filter to my attention.

Manuals just need drain and fills. No need to filter. A magnet on the plug is about all you might need. There are no pressure lines to install a filter. They use the gears to splash the oil around to lubricate like a transfer case.

so with that magnefine filter, do you just replace it whenever you change your tranny fluid. pricing is not that bad for it. thinking about using it now when i do my external cooler.

It's good for 30K miles just like the spin on types say they are. Most people think of inline filters as being small but this is pretty good sized. I'm thinking it's not much smaller in capacity than the spin on filter that comes with that type of tranny filter kit. The bonus to me is the built in magnet. It seems to catch most of what is in the fluid before it even gets to the membrane filter part.

I actually got the 5/16 hose size filter so the hose barbs on the filter are just a little smaller but if I would have known I would have got this one

This is the 3/8 size. You don't need to pay for the kit unless you need the hose clamps. You will need two extra to put the filter on. I guess for the $2 more it might be worth it unless you already have extra clamps.
