Okay finally got a break from homework so here come the updates.
I gave up on my drawer since it didn't really help too much with organization and I never really finished it. I'm gonna wait until I can do it right. I also finally got around to writing up my Halos. However in the process of doing that some gunk ruined my passenger side lens so I orders some aftermarket cheap headlight and switched the lenses.
I also go my bumper lights wired into my fog light switch. Possibly my favorite mod next to my halos. I just followed J.A.'s write up on how to get independent fogs and wiried it straight to the battery so I could turn them on without turning on the car. Then I spliced into the green power wire.
The indicator light worked perfectly. I didn't have to mess around with the second part of J.A.'s write-up. All this was instead of going to see 13 Hours so I'd say it was a good trade-off.
The next morning some friends and I went up to Tray Mountain to have some fun in the snow.
Saw some Toyota guys. One had a diesel Land Cruiser which was sick.

On the way down we saw a guy who had fallen off the trail and three jeeps with winches pulled him out it was pretty cool. Here's a link to the video.
Unfortunately my friend with the truck is a bit impulsive and despite our warnings to give the leader space, he rear ended my friend with the Jeep on the way down on a sheet of ice. He locked the brakes and slid and cracked his headlight. Luckily no one was hurt but he won't be going wheeling any time soon.

Posted my pics in the wrong thread anyways it was put on by some fire buddies my dad used to work with. They did an amazing job, pretty tricky screwing it in though due to a seam that runs along the entire frame where they were pressed together. Anyways, here it is
42 inches of badass. I'm addicted, can't wait to get pods next lol I'm already pricing them out

MtnJeeps makes them nice for like $450 on Craiglist. My friend just got a little mig welder so that's the route I'll be going

Dang...keeping busy I see. Sliders, storage in back and light bar? Hope to get to those next too...sometime. I suck at welding and only have a Hobart Handler electric one (non tank yet).

Been pretty busy with school and sports. I finally replaced the lights that went out on my climate control panel and got the map light mod done.
Here's a sneak peak at one of my next two big projects.
The second project is a roof rack which I'm starting when we finish welding my friend's jeep rear bumper.

Sorry but no pics have no idea what pics I'm talking about here. Screw Photobucket.
I know I've kinda gone dark recently in the build progress had to pay for dates instead of car stuff. Last weekend I painted my emblems Oil Rubbed Bronze or as I call it dark gunmetal. I'm moving to a gunmetal and orange theme to match my halos.

All of my metal finally came in for my roof rack. The Harbor Freight Pipe Bender aka the tubing kinker does not work! I had to find a shop to bend the corners for me.

I have the Lexan for a wind fairing. I am planning on finishing tomorrow. It has gone pretty well. The supports aren't perfectly straight but good enough for no jigs, harbor freight tools, and doing it weeknights on my front porch.
I also ordered a 42" Eyourlife light bar off of Amazon which should come Sunday.

Well the rack came out all skewed so I gotta buy more metal and build new one. The heat caused the tubing to bend since it wasn't clamped down. This time I'm going to make the feet before hand and weld it on top of the car on top of a welding blanket.

Not exactly sure. It's my friend's. It only does flux core.

Ahhh the handy mig does gas and flux. I Was gonna ask how you liked working with it. I just bought a Handy Mig two weeks ago. Now you've given me an idea to build a custom roof rack haha thanks man. And keep up the good work!

Yea my friend was gonna trade it out for the gas one but his parents were scared he'd blow himself up. I'm hoping to start v2 this weekend stay tuned for some tips and stuff.

Nice build man. You have to be careful with the thinner metal as I've been learning myself it tends to bend and warp really easy if it gets to hot! I've never welded with flux yet but I heard it burns pretty hot, I would turn it down more if you can. I just finished skinning this lid for my trailer and I screwed up a couple areas by trying to run a bead and ended up warping some of it so I literally had to stitch weld almost the whole thing,but that's on mig and turned all the way down.
I picked up the Hobart handler 140 mig/flux a few months ago and it's been awesome! So far I've only ran it with mig with gas and I've welded everything from thin sheet metal to 1/4" thick steel with no problem. I'm highly addicted now.

I would have liked to have gotten a 140 but my pockets weren't deep enough this time and i wanted to buy new. I figure the handy mig is something i can learn with and if i get into needing to weld heavier gauges I'll move up. Truthfully I went online and bought a Harbor freight 90 amp flux welder first and before it got delivered i decided to order the handy mig because I wanted to be able to use it for years to come and have a quality tool. Just like you I'm addicted to it and would weld everything in sight if I could lol

It's not thread jacking if I get involved Haha. I wish I could run gas much cleaner welds but yea I'm gonna try and get my metal this week and start this weekend. I wish my buddy got the Hobart my school has one and it's so much better being able to select more than 4 heats.
