Just painted the first window cover. These close on the inside of the back windows.

I've been fabricating a lot of parts for my second 4runner project. I almost finished my first when it was totaled after someone ran a stop sign and the only pic I have is of the accident. So I thought I'd document more this time.

Got the first cover installed. It looks like a tinted window when closed.

Just picked up my on board air compressor. I have a plan to mount the compressor in the engine compartment and the tank will be in the back with the gauges and hoses. I'll have them in a lockable access door on the outside. Just need to redesign the air filter box. I'll probably just put in a snorkel while I'm doing it.

In the spirit of packing everything I can into this truck, and since it already has a kitchen sink, I'm adding the ability to pack a camping toilet.

We're planning a 16 hour drive with our two kids so I think this may save some time along the way. Here's what I picked up...

I filled it with water and carried it in the truck all day to test for leaks. Something I noticed was it's sealed so well, it builds pressure as it warms up. I decided to put in a relief valve and it gave me an idea for a cleaning device.

I put in a multi-directional sprayer with a garden hose barb. When it's not being cleaned, I will have an adapter that threads on. It will have a shutoff valve and small line run outside the truck. This way I can equalize the pressure. This should be beneficial with the altitude change when we go in the mountains.

Next up is a gravity-fed faucet for the sink. I improvised a lathe with a drill gun and bench grinder. I'm going to silver solder in the brass fitting when I get it to the right size. The stainless container I found at the thrift store.

This setup allows me to ration water and add soap for dishes.

Got the idea for an air intake similar to the H1 style. I'll mount it low to the hood and streamline it so it's not round. I'll have a gasket so it will seal to the hood when it's down as well as raise with the hood when it's up. Here's the rough start.

Finally rewired my trailer lights. Found a vinyl tube to run like electrical flex that fit over the end of the plug.

Starting one of the exterior utility boxes. This will be the interface for incoming and outgoing 120 volt power as well as compressed air. It's getting mounted into the passenger rear lower quarter panel.
