This is impressive for sure. I can hardly envision the end result. I can only imagine your going for the military look? Very inspirational; Where do you see this build ending up?

Thanks, I make it up as I go. Those pics are close to what I think it will be. At least for the roof, back and part of the sides. Im debating replacing the side windows with armored glass in the back, or just putting bars like an mrap over the stock glass.

I have two other 4runners I'm combining for the next build. That one will look entirely like a military vehicle since the firewall and windshield is all I plan to keep on the frame. Actually more like a personnel carrier with three rows of seating. But I need to finish this 4runner first.

Cool project, but how much weight do you anticipate all of this will add? Is the drivetrain up to the task with the expected weight gain, not to mention the power plant? Or are there planned upgrades for those as well?

It's actually a lot lighter than it looks. I've probably added less than 200 lbs when you subtract the weight of the stock gate And what I've cut out. As for mods to address it, the air lift makes me forget there's even extra weight in the back. I totally recommend it. I would like to add a super charger someday though.

The shovel is officially mounted with a telescoping clamp you can only access from the inside. Because you never know who will randomly want to steal a tiny shovel. ..

Woah, what do we have here!? Something different, and mighty interesting too! Please keep us posted every step of the way, this is one of my favorite builds to keep an eye on so far.

Sidenote: For some reason that door knob makes me lol. :biggrin1:

Thanks, as for the door knob, it already broke internally. I'm going to come up with something original to replace it with soon. It was nice having my truck door use the same key as my house though. ..

Just built a rationing water faucet for a camping trip this weekend. Silver soldered a fitting onto a stainless container I picked up at the thrift store. Then I added a valve and shower head. It makes the water in this container last for two minutes.

Should be good for the kids washing hands and brushing teeth. It also can hang from a tree or canopy. Plus it's easy to clean.

I just picked up the custom elbow for my new safari snorkel. It should add a few horsepower. ..

Had a chance to use the faucet on a camping trip and it was a hit. I also built a storage tube for a large umbrella and foot stool.

I think it blends well when it's collapsed. I made it for the sportbrella. It works great with the hot days at work, it also keeps the rain off.
