If one is good, two are better...

Actually, it has been really nice. The small camera is a wide angle for seeing behind while driving and backing up, the one pointed down gives a better idea of how close something is while backing up since the wide angle makes everything look far away. Also, being high up, it shows the trailer hitch so I can hook up a trailer in one shot without getting out until it's perfectly aligned.

Started laying out the sides of the roof. Now I need to weld up the frames inside and paint. Hope to put them on this week. They look flat but most of it will be covered ultimately.

Made some official mounts for the storage tube. And I've realized you can never have enough tie down rings.

Made some progress on the roof panels this morning. I'm using scrap material so it looks a little rough.

Got the sides on... then the rain came so I threw on plywood. Still have to make up cross members and the top, but it feels great not looking at galvanized sheet.

Put in the cross members and a temporary metal roof. It rained today and didn't leak, so I'm happy. Also got the storage tube on.

It gets hot inside since it's a metal box in the sun, so I cut foam sheets and it's much cooler now. It's also a lot quieter when it rains.

Thanks. I remember when I didn't either. I started welding little stuff and my Dad said I could make anything. Then I found out he was right.

I really want to get into welding and fab. I plan on buying myself a welder soon. I guess doing it is the only real way to learn!

I agree, jump in and be ready to mess things up. I learn more when I mess up than when I do it perfect.

I added another smaller storage tube on the drivers side. I'm thinking about using it to store a small folding chair. End caps are almost eight dollars, so I got inventive.

Found these on a large rooftop unit I'm parting out. They'll look awesome on one of the access doors. Also, my battery died so I have a new one with more cranking power. I definitely notice the difference.

Finished the patch piece in front of the tail light on the passenger side. It took a while to match the curve of the rear hatch. It's finished down to the bottom edge of the tail light.

Just finished and painted the drivers side piece. I also painted the remaining aluminum tape so it will blend until I make the next pieces.
